Is there anyway that a Beolab 3500 can co-exist as both a Masterlink speaker and a Powerlink speaker?
Paul
Hi Poul
It is possible. BL 3500 should be audio option 4, This means to activate BL 3500 you has to use the Link command before choosing the source. The other unit must be in option 6.

Hi again Poul
You can only have either Masterlink connected OR PL, not both at the same time.

Hi Paul,
Please can you tell us which devices you wish to connect to the Beolab 3500 and if these are in the same room as the 3500? If possible, please can you also say whether your 3500 has a Powerlink socket (mk.2 version) or an MCL socket (mk.1 version) on the back?
We can then help you to find the best way to get everything working together.
Kind regards, Steve.
Steve.

Steve,
I was looking at installing a Beolink Active in my kitchen with a pair of active speakers I have and also connecting my TV to it to gain better speakers. I might have the chance of acquiring a Beolab 3500 and was trying to see if I could do the same.
Beolab 3500 only works with one source connected, so your best option here (unless the kitchen TV is a B&O model with a Masterlink socket fitted) is to go for the Beolink Active (please choose one with a PC socket fitted) and separate stereo speakers.
This way, you can have a Masterlink connection back to the main B&O system, plus a local connection from the headphone socket of a non-B&O TV in the same room.
Please let us know the full details of your system (ideally with model numbers on a room-by-room basis if possible) if you would like more accurate and detailed advice!
thanks. Paul
