I recently acquired a used MMC 4000 cartridge.  What turntables is this compatible with?

Hi and welcome to Beoworld.

The answer to your question is ‘quite a few’. These turntables were mostly those made from the mid 70s to the very early 80s. Off the top of my head, these would include the radial tracking turntables from the Beogram 2400 ‘family’, the 1902 family, the 1100 family and the Beogram 1700.

Also compatible would be the early tangential tracking turntables from the 4000 family from 1972 - 1980 and the Beogram 8000 and 6006 from the early 80s.

The 4000 family, especially the 4000 itself are excellent turntables as is the 8000. The 1700 is probably the best of the radial trackers compatible with your cartridge and has the added advantage of being very robust, easy to set up and very reliable.

For more details on the turntables that fit into the ‘families’, have a look on the excellent Beocentral site - https://beocentral.com/turntables

You can also get either a 1/2" mount or P mount so it can be fitted to other makes as well.
