Hi everyone, Sam here from Australia.
i recently picked up a beogram 4000 in really good nick. I was initially a bit daunted by the crazy complicated design but with the help of this forum and the beolover blog I'm staring to make sense if it all.
The deck still has a few problems, record sense doesn't work for instance, it just drops the arm into the platter regardless. I understand the lamp and sensor arrangement is quite sensitive so I'll keep reading up on that.
All in all just about everything works but the really big issue is that the tone arm has is a broken cartridge mount. When I investigated and removed the cartridge the tab came with it and there are signs of super glue being used to try and repair the break in the past. The outer left hand trace has broken and the part is just too small and delicate to try and repair I think. Is there a standard fix for this? I get the impression that I'm not the first person to have this issue.
Beolover has developed a 3D printed replacement by the looks but I don't know if this is a part that's available or not. I imagine he is a member here?
Id appreciate any help or direction you could all give.
Thanks in advance
Sam
