I've just found my old Beosound 2 MP3 Player and dock.

After a quick Dremmel polish it looks literally brand new.

However, I seem to have lost the power adapter. IIRC, this was a plug (UK G-Type) with a 5 or 6V DC conversion and an RJ11 output to the BS2.

1. Does anyone know the full specification of this type of power adapter (and where I could get one)

2. Does anyone know the wiring of the docking station so I could simply cut the RJ11 connector off and (hopefully) replace it with a USB connector?

Regards

Hi,

see attached photo Smile

Looking at my original cable, the two wires going to the RJ11 are white and red, red being the positive.

I am still using the Beosound 2

The internal battery could be replaced with a cheap LiIon from a Samsung telephone in case it is down and your dealer has no replacement.

I think I have a travel adapter for this which is basically the power supply and a clip which you can have.

Will check tonight and see if I can find it

Found the box - with nothing in it!

Will have a better look this weekend after the work Christmas parties are over.

Would you mind telling us which battery exactly can be used with the Beosound 2?

Peter,

Thanks for the consideration. I probably have my own here somewhere in one of dozens of loft boxes. I think the simple solution is to wire a USB cable in lieu of the RJ11. I surmise the BS2 was built around USB1.0 and thus needed separate connects for power and date. In a world of USB2 and 3, power over USB is common now.

Thank you all the same.
