Looks in nice condition but not remote control and to be fair, not at the pinnacle of performance. Very pretty though! Set a distinct budget and if you get it very cheap, why not!

My thoughts exactly, thank you Peter

It's a nice amp, nevertheless. IMHO it has a better performance (& design) than the 1900/2400. Had one for years until I finally replaced it with a Beocenter.
Most likely a cheap & easy fix, too. The thing that most commonly fails in these is the Amplifier-IC (STK463, around 10€ on ebay), it can be swapped for a new one in half an hour. Apart form that, they are well engineered and don't really have problems - no light bulbs (all LED), the bass/treble/balance controls are of a new design and don't break like the ones on the 1900, they used smaller components and everything is well ventilated -> no leaking caps.
And yes, it does not have remote control - but it does actually have Datalink (the first product to have it, I believe)! So if you get a Datalink Tape deck and Record player, it will be remote controlled (in a way ).
Thanks, that's all good news around for me than - appreciate your input and pointers
all the best

Agree with all the above - it is a very nice receiver though I do prefer the looks of the 2400 - but I am happy to admit complete bias as the 2400 was the first B&O I bought! The first Datalink receiver was the 8000 of 1980 which pre-dated the 1983 2000. That style of receiver at this time was represented by the rather rare 2300 which was a restyled 1900.
How many Bob? Thought you were out of cash?

Yeah I am (out of serious cash, can squeeze peanuts though) I've sent you email regarding your 4500 ;)

P.S. my only option being outcast in exclusive club is to buy extremely cheap and spend time and more cash repairing it So far it is sort of working - my collection is growing ....
