I confess that I am not a B&O loyalist so far. In fact my TV is a lovely Pioneer plasma that I bought 10 years ago, equipped with Harman Kardon surround system, and in my kitchen is a Pair of Dynaudio wireless speakers that play great for their size.
My wife thinks I have gone mad falling in love with the BV12. From previous potst I agree that it is no more than a Panasonic screen£2000 with a better engine. A 17000£...but is is so sleek and oozes understated luxury, and the picture is awesome and equipped with BL 12, subw, and BL 3 back speakers it is a nice nice set. How to possibly justify this?am I mad?
Yes, you are stark raving mad. As we all are.
Welcome and enjoy your TV.
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
Buy it.
The very second I get offered one my 7-55 is going and i'm moving it straight into my home!! It's the only thing i've seen yet that rivals my 7-55...
You're right - the 12 just oozes luxury, like a Rolls Royce Phantom on your wall...
Isn't it funny how we perceive things. Lee has just posted that Rolls Royce and to me, that is the most evil, vulgar thing i've ever seen. If the devil had a car that would be it! It's evil dude!
Jecoi wait until the BV11 arrives. £17k for a TV very shocking! But, each to their own :)

I'd rather have a Bentley!

I would rather have an Aston Martin V12 Zagato with Bang and Olufsen kit.

Absolutely agree. Each to their own, and the world would be a boring place if we all agreed on the same things.
To me, the Rolls Royce Phantom says everything a luxury car should. Heritage, craftsmanship, todays technology and building processes (yes, even raiding other peoples parts bins if necessary), but above all - presence.
If anyone can tell me they can drive down a street, dual carriageway or motorway and not notice a Phantom, they have serious visual impairment. The car is immense, and beautiful.
And no, I wouldn't prefer a Bentley..

And it heats your room like a radiator (trust me, it runs very warm) and you won't get much of a trade-in/resale on the BV12. My dealer made that very clear.
It's a lovely product, I too fell in love with the BV12 for many months. Was close to pulling the trigger on the dealer's unit (after trading in the BV10-46). Was very good deal. I'm glad I didn't though and have managed to get over my "love" for the BV12 after taking a much more realistic approach to the unit and price and whether I really needed a 65" TV on my wall. I also decided to wait for the BV11.
If you have absolutely tons of cash, with £17K burning a hole in your pocket and you simply have nothing else worthwhile for this £17K, then I'd certainly recommend it, apart from the heat issue.

Me...
To calm you down, I'll dazzle you with some pies. How's that ?
Wouldn't life be boring if we all just acted on reason and not by emotion now and then...
There's no reason to justify buying a BV12. It's about emotion more than reason. Just like buying a Rolls Royce -or a Ferrari. Some even buy a Dolce & Gabbana leather bag for their iPhone (like Paul W...) If that's what you want (and you can afford it) then buy it. And don't listen to other peoples opinion.
Steffen: Wouldn't life be boring if we all just acted on reason and not by emotion now and then...
I acted on emotion and bought a Bentley. That was boring, and costly, hence my reply to Peter...
However, a BV12 should give you many hours of pleasure - and doesn't do 9 miles to the gallon, and fall apart as you drive it.
Seriously - at the right money, I'd have a BV12 in a heartbeat. From a design and finish perspective, they're on a different planet to everything else out there. Total class. Want one...

He he - seems it can be boring acting on emotion too...
And I would certainly not be bored if I bought a BV12. But my common sense (and my banker) says no...
Anyway - I would still like to have one
It seems that everyone is clear om what the BV11 is about, but I am not sure what to wait for. A BV10 upgrade with BV1 functionalities? I have moved away from my infatuation with smart TVs, much better hook up a mini Mac and ITV with wireless keyboard and mouse, it is faster and more versatile and a lot cheaper too, plus you get al the sharing between all Mac devices for a fraction of the price.
So if anyone knows about BV11 the enlighten me.
I will buy the BV12 next week if BV11 does not blow me away and my wife is not serious about then divorcing me.
Well, the cat is officially out of the bag now, so.... I have spent the last 2 days in the company of the BV-11, and all I can say is "Wow!" If one is to pick nits, then one could point out a couple of cosmetic areas which do not quite live up to the BV-10. Fair enough. But given that the changes in cosmetics clearly help lower the price, and do not "fall too far from the tree", I am willing to compromise. The picture is simply FANTASTIC! Unleashing some more of the features of the 'engine' suit me just fine. Run, do not walk, to your local shop to see one in-the-flesh.
We all know that there is at least one other new product soon to be released. On that topic I can not comment.
OT...anyone here ever played "Portal"? Lovely game. I adore the turrets. Now more than ever.
Anyone else?
We kid because we love.
I thought the A9 had been seen now?

It stopped traffic in Struer though!
The problem with the Phantom is that is is really not very pretty and is designed for the owner to ride in the back. I can't see you as Alan Sugar somehow.

more like Alan Doughnut!
(mother says Ta for the pies).

That pretty much sums up my conclusion. I was so so so close to buying a BV12 though. I think I had to pay £9999 for it, but still decided against it.
Russ, looking forward to viewing the BV11. Could be the best way for me to move up to a 55" screen, without the expensive of the BV7-55 (or, of course, BV12). I also agree I'm not too fussed about the smart TV features, but if you can hide an Apple TV in the case, like the V1, this will be a bonus.
I think the BV12 is a beautiful thing and would want one in a heartbeat, if as somebody else said, the price was "right".
The BS3 is included, which is almost half the price (correct?), but the BS3 is slightly outdated and I would want to wait until BS4 (or whatever name it gets) with the new features from V1 (and BV11).
Didn't know about the heat though - is it significantly hotter than other 65" plasmas?
Lastly, I'm also a little ambivalent to the BV12's speaker - it really doesn't work alone so you'd need a pair of BLs at least
