Vintage Bang & Olufsen Beomaster 8000 Stereo Receiver Near MINT

A bit expensive but eye candy nonetheless!

Nice... but still my first thought is that the box with the Beomaster inside it will be total ***** to carry around Big Smile

Yes, my Beolab 6000 will be much less weighty!

Having needed to take my BM 8000 to Tim Jarman for some work on the heat sinks, I am still not sure if my back has recovered from the experience of getting the thing into the car!

I think this is the first time I have seen a boxed one for sale. As a rather sad 'completist' I would really like a box for mine - anyone got one they want to sell?

What did it need doing? I think he was the last person to work on that one when I had it!!

Peter,

This was a year or so ago now.  The heatsinks, particularly the R/H one were running very, very hot.  Tim explained what it was at the time, but a combination of technical ignorance and encroaching Alzeimer's has meant that I cannot remember the exact nature of the fault.   It's running fine now.

By the way, my partner's son is borrowing the 'Bin Laden' 4400 at the moment (his BC3500s are needing work).  Unsurprisingly, having lived with the 4400 he seems to be 'making haste slowly' with the repairs!

Regards

Cleve

I had a backache when I sold my secondary Beomaster 8000 (still regret it!) - it had to be freighted all the way to Copenhagen, the two times I had to lift it out of the boot of my hatchback Volvo 480 will be unforgettable.

Vinyl records, cassettes, open reel, valve amplifiers and film photography.

You need to upgrade the Volvo Big Smile
