Hello,
The rubber that opens the cd tray in my beogram cd 6500.
Needed replacement. So I put in a brand new rubber. I had to remove the white wire from the black coil but now I have no idea how to put it back on. !!! It looked so simple.
Anybody know were to find instruction how to do it?
Thanks and greetings from the netherlands, Bas
You don't have to take off the wire....I suggest you ask the seller for instructions.
Martin
Thanks, but the seller has no part im this any longer.
He has no clue.
I spend hours tonight in getting this to work without succes. Really hope to get this running again
:-(
The instructions I include with my belts doesn't tell how to refit the wire.It tells how to avoid having to do it.
I think we had a thread about that wire some time ago in a similar deck but I can't find it.

It is quite simple if you know how to do it :)
Here are some pictures that might help you.

When the tray is all the way out, the short part of the wire is attached to the top part of the sledge, and the knot on the wire is in the groove of the wheel, the long part of the wire is from the grove and around the wheel to the inner part of the wheel, and then pulled to the front and around the horisontal wheel next to the tray, and then to the tray.
The short wire on the top of the tray is connected with the big spring to the tray as you can see, and the long wire is connected with the wire going through the end of the spring, and is connected with the wire.
It may take many tries to get it right, but I usually put the wire in the groove, and spin the wheel so the long wire goes around the wheel to the inside. So I attach the long wire first, making sure to hold the wheel somehow so it does not turn and tangle the wire.
It will take you some time to get hold of it the first time.

Thank you so much for this great info.
I did try to fix it last night till very late without succes.
Thia morning a fresh start and now it actually looks very simple to fix! Had it running in ten minutes. So happy with it. Cannot stand if I cannot figure something like this out myself.
Love all the knowlage on this forum and hope my threat will help somebody as dumb as me in the future;-)

The moral of this story is that members should support Dillen, who will supply the correct belts for very many B&O products and includes fitting instructions.

Thanks, did not know that๐๐
Does anyone have the forementioned Youtube video about replacing the CD Drawer string on a Beogram CD 6500?
thnx
Hi there, I am following up on this topic as I just got a beogram CD 7000. When I opened it, the rubber band was in pieces and the string was all messed up. This explains why the door would not open anymore. I now ordered the belt for motor tray, but as far as I understand the included instructions do not explain how to fix the string too, so I have a little problem. First, I am not getting how to start wrapping the string around the wheel. I understand it goes into the groove first ?
Many thanks !!
