Hi everyone hope someone might be able to help...
I have an Avant 10 and my remote has been water damaged, I wondered if anyone knew of a cheaper remote that would work, perhaps a universal model?
Any help appreciated, I want my tv during Xmas!

Hi,
The Beo4 DTV would work most of the functions but the names might be different i.e. pressing V.MEM might bring up SAT. You would have to play around to work it out but at least you know it would work most functions. Also, there are more functions under the LIST key and it’s possible for you youeself to add more functions.

If you have the time: Remove the batteries, open it with a screwdriver, disassembly it carefully while, put the mainboard with keys and LCD into a pot of crude rice (NO, don't cook it) and leave it there a day or two. Casing, rubber keypad and front plate can be dried with a towel or carefully on heater.You may use some isopropyl to clean the mainboard to get rid of water before putting it into rice. Don't let the isopropyl run into the LCD.good luck and don't bother anymore. Try to relax with your family and after the feasts: Go and buy a backup remote (or 2) just in case. ;)

What is a ‘Avant 10’???
If you are looking for something cheap, that could replace a damaged Beo4/BL1000, this might be something:

However, I would look after a second life Beo4 - the older ones come relatively cheap.
But maybe you already was able to save the ‘damaged’ remote/solve the problem following the advice from TWG in the above post.
