Father Christmas was kind enough to bring me a Beogram 7000 this year as a present.
It's playing beautifully but there is an issue - the datalink doesn't seem to be working. I've connected it up to both my BM7000 and BM4500 and pressing PHONO doesn't start the turntable and pressing play on the Beogram doesn't turn the amp on.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
How many pins are there in its DIN plug?
Martin
There are 7 pins in the DIN connector Martin.
Check for broken leads inside the DIN socket.Check for bad protection diodes in the datalink signals.
If you have another Beogram and/or Beomaster with datalink support, you could try swapping the units around to see if theproblem is related to the Beomaster or the Beogram (or both).
MrRoast:All done and datalink working again but soldering DIN plugs isn’t my favourite job! Very fiddly!
It is a balls aching job, how Steve Marriott does it for a living I shall never know!
