I apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge about this, but I am looking for more insight on linking systems, TVs, and speakers together. If I have a Beosound 2500 (no masterlink), a pair of Beolab 5000 wall speakers and a Beovision 8-32 (no masterlink). Would it be possible to link these together? I was reading about the MCL2-AV and it seemed like this may be possible. Basically I would like to have the 2500 to listen to CDs and radio through the BL5000s, but also would like to have the sound from the BV-8 come through the BL5000s using the BV8 as a center channel.
Thanks in advance for any help and ideas!

Beosound 9000 MK III, Beosound Century, Beogram 5005, Beolab 8000, Beolab 5000, Beolab 4000, Beolab 5, Beovision 8, Beovision 10, Beovision 5, Beoplay A2, Beoplay E8, Beoplay H6.
This may be inadvisable, however... there are the 2 powerlink inputs on each BL5000 speaker. If I connected the BS2500 to PL1 on each speaker and the BV8 to PL2 on each speaker would that work? The BS2500 and the BV8 would never be used at the same time, so maybe this is feasible?
Hi,
the Beosound 2500 has a 7 pin DIN AUX-In/Out connector. This can be used to connect the BV32 (w/o ML) and get the sound through the BS2500 to the Beolab 5000! You need a scart connector which gives the audio signal to the BS2500. Now set the Option programming for the BS2500 to 'A.Opt 2'. This means that the BS2500 switches to the AUX Port when one of the Video sources is selected ( TV, SAT, VMEM or DVD AND it displays this on the dsiplay . Also the Beolab 2500 show the source on the display!
The scart cable you need is not a common one. I once got one which had a separate plug in the case of both scart connectors. But i think such cables are absolutely rare!
Maybe Steve from Sounds heavenly can make such a cable (scart to something else plus an additional audio out) for you.
The scart cable has to be connected to the AV1 scart connector because only this one is hardwired to give the Video and Audio out of the selected source, normally used for the Video Tape recorder. This will be changed to the third scart connector ( AV4) if the ML module is installed!
The TV should be set to V.OPT 1. The only drawback to a masterlink connected system is that switching from TV to Radio for example doesn't switch off the TV. You have to press the red standby button (switches off everthing) and then press the radio button.
Another way to connect the TV's audio to the BS2500 could be the headphone socket at the left side, but i think it switches of the TV speaker.
Connecting the TV and the BS 2500 at the same time to the Beolabs is not what the second PL plug was intended for. The system which is switched off can disturb the signal which shall be played. Normally nothing bad will happen to the devices itself.

Would the combination of these two items work for what you are describing?
the SCART/RCA Block will work, but the 5pin DIN cable will not work.
You need a cable like a iPod->5pin DIN adapter
The reason can be found here: AudioLink
Scroll down and you find the pinout of the 7pin DIN. Subtract/remove the pins 6 and 7 in the drawing and you have the pinout you need: Pin 1 and 4 are the pins which contain the signal that goes into your BS2500, Pin 2 is the common ground connection.
Pin 3 and 5 are the 'output' lines. In the PoweLink adapter you showed the RCA cables will be connected to pin 3 and 5 and ground to 2 if built correctly.
The best and most secure way to get the correct and working connection you want is Steve (link to Sounds Heavenly) is down on this page.
He also might be able to supply with one integrated cable you need in the correct length. (integrated means no interconnection, just one scart and one DIN Plug with one cable)
Thanks RaMaBo,
You are correct that (as standard) the cable in the link isn't the one that is needed, but I can re-wire this cable on request to use pins 1 and 4 for the left and right signal channels as required.
Kind regards, Steve.
Steve.

Steve, Thank you for your help!! Just for a little background info... I had a non B&O TV connected to my Beosound 2300 via the TV's headphone out to the BS2300's aux. The TV and BS2300 are on different sides of the room so I have already run a 3.5 male to male cable between each. With adapters for the BV8's scart and the BS2300's aux, would I be able to continue to use the cable that it already run or would I need to run all new wiring to achieve the same solution with the BV8-32?
Thank you!!!!
Picture for reference. The BS2300 is on the dresser just outside of the picture to the right...
Hi Tucker,
That looks very nice! Yes, we can get your existing cable working with the BV8 and BS2300. so that we can confirm the best way to connect, please can you confirm if you want to use the headphone socket (ie. TV speakers turn off when the 2300 is plugged in) or an alternative output (to keep the TV speakers playing)?
I would like to continue using the TV's speaker so maybe use the scart connection that Ramabo had mentioned earlier?
Thanks again Steve!
No problem! Please feel free to drop me a line via my sponsor link below and I will be pleased to quote for a SCART to female 3.5mm cable (TV end) and a female 3.5mm to DIN cable (Beosound end) in lengths to suit your needs.

Just sent the message through your website. Thanks again to all of you!!!
So I got my package of cables from Steve today! I have my TV set to option 1 and my BS2300 to option 2, but I am not getting the TV sound to play through the BL5000s that are connected to the BS2300. Is there anything else I need to do?
Thanks!
if you press the ATAPE Button (or AMEM) on the Beo4 (if the BS 2300 is in (A.OPT 1) you should be able to listen to the sound of the TV. The Beosound 'opens' the AUX input then. If the BS 2300 is set to A.OPT 2 pushing TV, VTAPE, SAT or DVD should also switch to the AUX connector and show the corresponding source in the display.
You get the TV sound on the SCART 1 connector, which is internally wired to receive and transmit video and audio so that a Non B&O Video Tape Recorder can be used to record from the TV. The SCART 2 connector is only wired for input to the TV!

I have the BS2300 set to opt2. It does show "TV" on the display, but no audio from the TV. Only through the TV itself.
The SCART connector is in AV1 spot.
The DIN cable that Steve supplied is a 5 PIN. He said that should work, but I remember you saying it may require a 7-pin. Could this be the problem?
Thank you again for all of your help!!
That is good advice from RaMaBo. Also, please can you double-check that the TV cable is plugged into the Aux socket on the Beosound, not one of the Powerlink sockets?
Please don't worry that my cable has 5 pins instead of 7, as they fit and work perfectly in the 7 pin Aux socket on your system. The other two pins are only used for remote control data, so they are spare in this application.
Please let us know how you get on.
Kind regards,

Thanks Steve,
The cable is plugged into the aux location as my pair of BL5000s are plugged into each of the Powerlink spots. I have double checked that the SCART is in the AV1 position as well.
I have also used a different middle cable that laid across the room just to rule out that the cable I had previously run was not damaged in some way.
I have tried all option settings, and using the ATAPE/Aux setting on the BS2300 as well as the TV function. The BL5000s display the correct "TV" or "Aux" option, but no sound...
I have a feeling it is something simple I am overlooking (most of the time it is with me, haha), but so far no luck.
Again, thank you so much for your time and effort to help me!
Thanks for your reply. It could be helpful to test the Beocenter and the existing minijack cable that runs under your floor - we can do this all in one go if you have a set of headphones or a portable powered speaker that can connect to the minijack plug at the TV end of your existing cable running under the floor.
To test the Beocenter and cable, please power off and unplug your speakers from the Beocenter, then connect the Aux cable to one of the 8 pin Powerlink sockets and plug your headphones/speaker into the other end of the cable. You should now get music through the cable, with volume control from the Beocenter.
Please let me know how you get on and I will be pleased to assist further.
And another simple test is as follows:
connect evrything as it should be but connect the TV side of the minijack cable to the headphone connecotor of your mobile phone or any mp3 player. Now set the source device to maximum volume and select the AUX input of your BS2300. You should now get the music on the Beolab 5000.
If this is the case the cabling seems to be ok. Then set the AV1 connector of the TV set to V-MEM ( or VTAPE) If you now plug the minijack cable into Steves SCART Adapter you should get it running as wanted.
Ok so I can get the din cable to work as Steve has described, plugged into the Powerlink socket with sound through my Form2 while playing a CD. I also tried connecting the headphones to the mini-jack socket on the SCART connector while plugged into the BV8 but there is no sound through the headphones. Only the sound bar on the BV8.
Would I need to change any settings in the "connections" menu on the BV8?
You shouldn't need to change any settings in the TV menu. Can you please try a different source on the TV (eg. AV2 via SCART, or AV3 via component video) please? I have check this on a Beovision 8 in the workshop and the audio from all sources can be pulled through to the SCART output of AV1 except audio from the HDMI socket.
Well you may have just addressed the problem... Forgive me, but I was unaware that it would not pull sound from the HDMI socket, and this is the only input that is currently being used on the BV8... When I get home tonight I will plug up a connection to a different source and retest...
