So, I was connecting a Chromecast to the mains (before I had connected the Chromecast to the Century) and the Century suddenly powered off... I'm 99% certain I didn't interrupt the mains supply to the Century.
Switched the Century back on, all works fine including the Chromecast connected to AUX, but, it refuses to react to any command from the Beo 4. The Beo 4 is fine - works my 5500 perfectly.
I'm proper stumped!
Any help appreciated
Cheers
Nigel
Remove the glass, clean it thoroughly. Hoover the front grilles, including the little black strips between, replace glass.
If that doesn't work, your IR sensor needs replacing.

Hi Lee
Yes, I used that trick (that you taught me) before I started the thread to no avail...
Damn, must be the IR sensor... I feel a trip to Tim coming on...
However, apart from cannibalising an old unit, any ideas, anyone, where I can get one from?
Hi
few of those i fix it so that i change capacitors on the IR receiver PCB.
try it..
Thanks Marexy. Beyond my technical capabilities, but I know a man who can!
