Ok, don't know if this has been up here before. Did a quick search, but couldn't find anything.

I have a Beosound Moment playing to a pair of BL18s and a BL19. Even though my old non-B&O TV is positioned on the wall right between the 18s, the Moment is not connected to the TV and the TV only uses its own internal (crappy) speakers. I normally don't watch much TV anyway, and I don't want to stretch a cable to the line-in on the Moment as this is on another wall. My TV is almost exclusively used as a screen for my Apple TV.

Today I discovered that I can connect bluetooth sound devices to the Apple TV, however. I don't know why I haven't known this before. I immediately paired the Moment and the Apple TV, and it worked. I can now play sound from the Apple TV to my Moment and my 18/19s! Perfect!

Except for the delay in the sound, that is... I tried with a couple of movies on my Apple TV and it seems that the sound is half a second or so behind the picture. Does anyone know a fix for this? I can watch movies on my iPad with my Beoplay H9s over bluetooth, so clearly the delay inherent in bluetooth is solvable. I read in some forum on macrumors.com ( https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/bluetooth-headphones-with-zero-audio-lag-is-this-even-possible.2004759/ ) that iOS compensates automatically, and that the Apple TV should too. But not in this case, it seems. At least not for me.

Does anybody use this kind of setup?

Hej Henrik,

this article might interest you:

However, the BS Moment has no support for AirPlay.

But a small AirPlay receiver connected to the line-in of the BS Moment could do the job.

Not sure, if that would solve the ‘delay issue’, but it probably would be better soundweise.

It should possible to reduce the delay in the BS Moment (to a minimum setting of 50mS).

The delay on Line-in on the Moment, can be set to 30ms, however, the Bluetooth delay is much bigger, approx 1 second(and cannot be changed). So you cannot use this for something with pictures on it.

I have Samsung TV connected to the Moment, with delay set to 30ms on the Moment, and 0ms on the Samsung TV. it is watchable, but in some shows and some channels, the delay is still noticeable.

The Moment is not great with 3'rd party devices if it includes picture also.

Thanks for both your inputs, Weebyx and MM! I've had a look at the settings and I can see that there's no way to change the delay on sound over bluetooth. Wouldn't have helped if it was, I suppose, since I would actually have to set the delay to a negative number anyway. Now *that* would have been an impressive feature! If there should be a delay somewhere it would have to be in the picture, on the TV.

I wonder how this is achieved when you watch movies on your iPad with bluetooth headphones. Same challenge. I guess iOS solves this with a delay in the picture. So Apple should be able to do the same thing on Apple TV. Would've been nice if there was a configurable picture delay setting on Apple TV, but I don't think there is.

Anyway, it wasn't very important. Would've been cool though.
