Beovision6 not powering up

Good evening one and all,

I have inherited a beovision 6 on moving into my current address. It is paired with a Beo4 remote. Despite the power light on the screen being red and occasionally green when attempting to switch the tv on, all I'm getting is the red light and a blank screen.

I have checked the batteries in the remote and it appears to be in working order.

I have switched the mains off and on removing the motorised stand cable and replacing same with no effect. 

It is a stand alone tv with just a set top box. It had been working fine, then as described above.

Any ideas?
