I believe the HDD in my BM5 has crashed. It is the original. I see much discussion about cloning the old HDD to create a new drive, but what if the old drive is broken so no longer clone-able? I believe I have most of my music backed up (and, if not, I have the CDs), but can I just put in a new disk and run recovery and then copy in my music?
Thanks,
Stan

Duels:Yes that’s roughly what I have paid. Twice!
It turns out it was my system board (again) rather than my HDD. On the one hand, I'm happy because I didn't have a recent backup of the HDD so it would have been some significant work to rebuild it. On the other hand, I'm angry because this is the 2nd time this board has failed (1st time was under warranty) - one of the reasons I thought it was the HDD that failed. Anyway, I just gave the service center the go ahead to fix it. It is kind of painful, but I do enjoy it, and I don't really see anything in the market to replace it. I was considering going with a Moment, but since that product is dead, and I'd need to buy a NAS to serve my music (when I first looked at the Moment, I was thinking I could use the BM5 as my NAS). Oh well...
I'll probably take a shot at getting a SSD after I get it repaired (and backed up).
