Hello,

I asked my question in a previous thread , but under another name ( probably not appealing).

I intend to buy a SH BV 7 40 MK2 in order to use it with my beosystem3.(all beolabs conected to BS3).

If I want to use BV7 dvd player how should I output the sound from BV7 to BS3?

I am insisting on this because I can try to cancel the BV7 40 MK2 deal and think on something else if I cannot use the dvd player.

Thanks!

Liviu

Hi,

You cannot use the bv7-40mkII to connect to beosystem 3 for several reasons

1. both bv7 and beosystem 3 reacts on same command (for example you press dtv on beo 4 both bv7/and beosystem 3 change if the react on "dtv" )

2.  you can get composite picture from dvd on scart on bv7 to beosytem 3 but who wants that? but that also impossible to work because remote command "dvd" for example both change your dvi from your other sources to dvd and you loose picture anyway

conclusion= mission impossible

buy a samsung LED screen (for ex 8 series) instead if you not want a b&o plasma screen and with that your b&o technican can do  sw update (PUC update) on your bs3 to start your samsung screen so you not need samsung remote, for that you need a puc cable and puc splitter to fit in the bs3puc 1+2 connector

Tompa,

I don;t want video out from my BV7. I want only audio out to bs3 where my beolabs are conected.

Issue with beo4 raise some concerns.

As a suggestion, why not buy a B&O Plasma Panel to go with your BeoSystem 3 ?

If you go for a full 1080p version it'll be streets ahead of the Mk2 7-40 in terms of PQ.

Lee, thanks for your suggestion.

I want to change my full HD non B&O plasma ( Samsung) with a smaller and not necesarilly HD panel ( LCD/plasma) in order to buy a full HD projector for movies.

That way the panel will be use mostly for TV broadcast ( some HD channels).

The alternative will be a 50" full HD plasma for both tv and movies.

Haven't decided yet:)

ok... But why only sound? you use a b&o audiomaster for that, for ex bs9000 that you have in pipe

you have to decide what you want from your equipment and buy after that not buy first and try difficoult/messy setup

One of the nice things with b&o then right purchase and setup and you have a wonderful and easy use audio/video

equpiment

but as i say before if you not want big B&o screen use for ex samsung 32/40 inch led models

Tompa,

I have nothing againg a large B&O screen. The problem is that B&O doesn't deliver them for free :)

I am somehow split between an unique large panel ( plasma 50/ 65) to use for both TV and movies OR a smaller panel ( 40" LCD/plasma) for tv broadcasts + projector&screen for movies.

I am now owing a Beosystem 3 + 50" Samsung plasma + Beosound 9000 + 2 x 8000's/6000's/4000's beolabs conected to BS3.

I am open to sugestions :)

Thanks!

Liviu
