I have the motorised stand from MX7000 and I was trying to change the baseplate and get install into my MX4200. Upon closer look, MX4200 have different STAND port which is like 5pins DIN (meanwhile the MX4000 is 4Pins DIN). The cable from stand could not be hooked up into this STAND port on MX4200. How should I hook up the motorised stand cable into the MX4200 STAND port?

As far as I know you can't. The interface is different electrically as well.

The motor unit (5 pins) is the same  for a MX4200  and MX8000

The stand for a MX4200 is de same as a mx3500 mx4000.

Yes. I believe MX8000 uses the same stand interface as MX4200. But this is all from vague memory, I've never had any of these last model CRTs myself.

I had an MX4002 years ago, which I loved. I believe the motorized stand was B&O type no. 4116.

Reading this whole thread again, the information is still a bit ambiguous. So, just to recap:

  • MX4002 is basically an MX4000 with Masterlink interface. They share the same 4-pin stand interface as earlier models (up to MX7000 in the bigger form factor).
  • MX4200 and MX8000 are internally very different from earlier models. They both use the later (and incompatible) 5-pin stand interface.

Can someone point me to the right direction where I can somehow adapt 4pin to 5pin so that I can use my current motorised stand for my MX4200? If not, anyone on ebay selling the motorised stand for MX4200? Thanks

The motors are completely different electrically and cannot be modified.

This is not true. The motors themselves ARE compatible, the surrounding electronics are different.

I found info on internet from a guy who exchanged the motor from a MX4000/7000 stand to a MX4200/8000 stand.
