Today I have finally found some time to reinstall the refurbished crossovers and midtones. Does take a bit of time but I can’t wait to hear them with my Classic audio bm4400. Thanks to Martin for his help.

All up and running Smile they didn't sound bad before but I'm surprised how big a difference it has made. The image and seperation is much clearer. It takes a little getting used to, like when we first got hd tv and suddenly saw the fit presenter in a, erm, new light.

I'm planning to give the beovox m100, that they are replacing, the same treatment and then compare the 2 sets and decide which to keep. Took a quick snap of the two next to each other to show the diffences. sorry for the poor quality, I will try and take some better ones when the m100's er done.

M100 to the left and m100.2 to the right.

On the last picture it looks like the dust cap on the woofer of the M100 is facing inwards whereas the dust cap on the M100.2 is facing outwards like most I've seen. Is this correct or is it just the angle and lighting? I've seen a couple of pictures where it looks to be facing inwards and I just bought a pair where this is the case, but one looks a bit damaged, so I'm wondering if it has been pushed in or if they actually came like that originally.

you’re right, it is facing inwards on the m100. I wasn’t sure whether it was supposed to be like that or not because they looked completely undamaged. I tested the 2 sets next to eachother and the difference between them was almost non existing and my ears couldn’t detect any difference in the bass. In short the m100s bass sounded perfect so I didn’t pursue it any further.

If they are facing inwards on both your M100s, it could very well be that they came from the factory like that. Will have a closer look at mine once I get the chance.

Isn't it correct that most of the old capacitors are radial while the new ones are axial? Any tips on installing the new ones besides fixating them with glue?

It was like that on both of them. I'm sorry but I can't help you with the more technical side of the crossovers as I left that job to someone much better qualified ;-) I'm sure Dillen can answer that though.
