Hi there,
I have a Beocenter 9500 which recently start refusing to play some of my cd's.
It spins up the disks, recognise the number of tracks and then either stops and opens the door.
Or it stops and still shows the number of tracks. When i the press a number it sometimes starts playing after all. The chances are higher if it is not the first or second number on the disk it seems.
It does it with specific disks. Does disks are some new and some older. My feeling is that the longer playtime the disk has the higher the chance on failure.
I tried cleaning the leaser lens with some alcohol, but that didn't seem to work.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Do a search for C2103 capacitor. It is located on the servo PCB board under the laser mechanism.
Dillen on this forum can supply you with a capacitor kit that will make it work again, but you need to disassemble and do soldering to get it working.
Most of the times a new C2103 can do the job. It is very important that it is the blue Vichay(Philips on the old days) with the same value and type.
But the other capacitors is also old, so it makes sense to change them all now you have the PCB out of the unit.
