I have a beogram 5500, is overall good condition.  I have to raise the turnable to lift it up as it use to scrape as it went round.  This worked but as you look at the pickup arm it rises and falls as something is not flat.

Taking a little more time to investigate, it appears the brass shaft that is attached to the floating chassiss  and holds the turnable is loose.

How can this be tighted or should I just use a little glue to hold in place and remove the movement?

Many thanks,

Darren

It's difficult to press it back into the chassis again the same way the factory did it,
but in most cases, the brass insert can be rotated a bit to find a plce where it will "bind" a little again.
Then add an amount of strong 2-comp epoxy glue to hold it and it'll be fine.
