good morning, I have a Beosound 9000 connected to the Beosound Core via the auxiliary output and can control everything with the bs4 remote control except the volume. What am I missing?

Hello Eitan,

I have connected the BS Core (using Powerlink configured as LineOut) to the BS 9000 (using LineIn). This works fine. The Speakers are connected to the BS 9000.

BV 14-55 mit BL 18, BL 8000, BL 2, BeoRemote One-BT, ATV 3; BS 9000 & BS Core & BS 4500 mit BL 12-3, BL 12-2, BeoLink 1000; BeoLine mit BC 2, BC 6000; BS 8; BeoVox CX100; BeoTime (analog), BeoTime (digital); Earphone A8; Beoplay H3 + P2

Dear Digi,

Thanks for your answer.

My configuration, as recommended by the B&O shop I bought my Essence Core from, is a bit different.

The BS 9000 connects via its AUX output to the Essence Core Line-in input. The Essence Core connects to the Transmitter 1 via a Powerlink cable, transmitting to 2 wireless speakers and a sub-woofer (Beolab 17 and 19).

In addition, a BS 9000 speaker sense adapter is connected to one of the BS 9000 speaker output in order to allow its Beo4 remote control to function, which it does, except for the volume control...

Any idea what is wrong?

Dear Eitan,

Welcome to Beoworld!

When you connect to the Aux socket of the Beosound 9000 to take an output to an Essence or Core, the Aux socket bypasses the volume control of the Beosound 9000.  You will then have volume control via the B&O app (or Essence remote) instead.

If you wish to have volume control of the 9000 via a Beo4 remote, then an alternative cable can be used in one of the Powerlink outputs of the 9000 to facilitate this.  Please feel free to contact me via my sponsor link below if you would like advice on the cable required for this option.

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.
