I have recently rent a house with a built-in AV system based on BS2 and Beovision 4-37. A few months ago I had bought a 55" Smart TV which of course I like to combine with the outstanding B&O sound stage, while replacing the aged 37" monitor.
My questions are :
a.- Can I use a VGA to Component cable to connect the BS2 to my TV?From the very useful http://archivedarchivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/34302/282827.aspx#282827 post, I understand that BS2 VGA output is a standard one. Will buying a cable like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/15-pin-svga-vga-Jacks/dp/B0069HLUU2/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1349901184&sr=8-6 allow to connect BS2 VGA-Out to Samsung's Component-In?
b.- Alternatively, can I use a VGA to HDMI converter like http://www.amazon.co.uk/KanaaN-Audio-HDMI-Converter-Adapter/dp/B003U4NHL2/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1349901307&sr=1-5 to get the signal through?
c.- What about RS-232. How will I go around? There is a suggestion on above forum to create a dummy serial cable with pins 2-3 connected to trick the system/ Any schematics available? Other solutions?

Hi,
I'm using this configuration with a Panasonic VT30. I don't use the VGA output signal from BS2, exept for using the Setup-Menu. The HD singnals of external boxes are passing by BS2 directly to the TV, sound ist going to BS2. When playing TV sound is going from the TV to BS2.
Everything is controlled by B&O remote using Lintronic.
If you have the BS2 user Guide at hand, have a look at the section dealing with HD-Signals.

You said you don't use the VGA output other than for setup-menu. That's the only reason I want it also. So I suppose you have connected it to your TV on TV's VGA input. The RS-232 from BS2 was left not connected?
You also mentioned that sound has been streamed from devices to BS2. I suppose by coax SPDIF. No Video connection at all to BS2?

No, i used a converter like this to convert to SCART AV-Signal as my TV has no VGA input. You need to be careful as BS2 uses RGBHV 575P 50Hz output signal, which needs to be compatible for yout TV's VGA input specs.

Yes, it is left unconnected, but pin 2 and 3 are shortcutted, otherwise BS2 will not startup.
I use all 4 possible AV-inputs of BS2 and have sources assigned to them as usual in the setup. Depending on the capabilities of the source I use analoge or digital sound input via coax SPDIF. No videoconnection at all.

any schematics which ones are the 2 and 3 pins on RS232?
I simply use a gender ganger with a piece of conductor to pins 2+3.
