What’s next? Will the BV12 be replaced with a BV13, or will the BS3 be replaced with a BS4?

With the BeoVision 10 being replaced with the BeoVision 11, I am left wondering whether the BeoVision 12 will be replaced with a BeoVision 13 that includes the goodies from the BeoVision 11, or whether the BeoSystem 3 will be replaced with a BeoSystem 4 that includes the goodies from the BeoVision 11.

As things are now after the introduction of the BeoVision 11, the features of the BeoVision 12/BeoSystem 3 combo come up short.  I can't imagine B&O would let this be the case for too long.

Personally, I hope that B&O chooses to make a BeoSystem 4 instead of updating the BeoVision 12 to include the goodies from the BeoVision 11.  The only feature that I would really like that isn't present in the video/audio portion of the BeoVision 11 would be digital outs for the BeoLab 5s.  So B&O, if you are reading this, please add digital outs for the BeoLab 5s if you make a BeoSystem 4.

What about the BeoVision 7?

I'm interested in this as well. I really like the BV11's new connections and features, but find that the picture quality does not reach the BV7 or BV12 level. I would guess they will make a BS4 with the same/similar features as BV11? Question is when? During 2012? Q1 2013? Later?

I was thinking exactly about the same thing last night! At first, I was really motivated to replace my current TV with a BV11, as it -finally- has all the features I expect from B&O, plus a 55-inch screen with BV10 design.

And then I thought: if you have the speakers, the screen and the remote control already, why replace all that? Just like BV7 in the past, there should soon be a separate box named BeoSystem 4..!

However, I don't think there will ever be a BV13, like there will never be a BeoSound13 or BeoLab 13:  "13" is bad omen ! Have you ever seen a row 13 on an airplane? Or level 13 in an elevator? So please, no 13 series, they won't sell any..Big Smile

According to my dealer, the BV12 is difficult to shift, so I can't imagine a replacement being rushed through any time soon. However, the BV12 uses the BS3 and that will need some kind of upgrade soon. You can't sell a BV11-40 for less than the price of the BS3, with more functionality.

Remember one important point - the BV12 is just a panel. Everything is handled by the BS3. If they release an upgraded BS3, the majority of the BV11 features should be available to existing BV12 users, too.

Of course: The Beosystem 3 will be upgraded to Beosystem 4 and Beovision 7 to Beovision 14 (not 13 Smile) soon with the BV 11 features. Otherwise the only Beovision sold will be the BV 11!

Is there no chance that the BV11 functionality could be brought to the BV12 / BS3 through a software upgrade ? The added functionality in the BV11 is nice and given how new the BV12 is i would hope it could be available as upgrade to current hardware rather than requiring new hardware. It would be a nice gesture from B&O to customers who have invested significant amounts just 9 months ago in their flagship (?) tv product :-)

I can't imagine how that would be possible - thery use different hardware with different capabilities.
