Trying to find someone who can help us set up a B&O 7-40 TV / Stand and SurroundSound system as we are not familiar with the system - - we have tried all the online old manuals etc and honestly can't work out all the wires etc. happy to pay for someone's time/help? thanks
Hi Chris,
I see that Lee helped you getting the stand working by resetting the TV (unfortunately that removed all the settings) . If you give us a little more information we may be able to help remotely.
What else are you trying to connect as part of the Surroundsound system? Does the TV have a built-in DTV tuner? Are you connecting an external one. What speakers are you connecting? Are you connecting anything else? Anything you connect needs to be added in the TV menu and if we know exactly what you are connecting we could "walk" You through it.
It may seem fairly complicated if you are new to it but once you have the correct instructions it will all go together smoothly.

Thanks for that update Chris.
One last question for now. Do you know which center speaker you have? If it is the one that runs horizontally below the TV (like a soundbar) it is likely to be a Beolab 7.2, if it is the more boxy one that sits vertically with the "acoustic lense" at the top it is likely to be a Beolab 7.4.
I assume you get no sound at all from the TV or DVD player!
I have sent a private email with a diagram of what I'm hoping the back of your TV looks like.
One crucial thing easily overlooked is to connect the speaker cables (and interconnecting cables to external devices) whilst the TV is either already turned on or even in standby. Any cables plugged into the TV should be done while the TV is disconnected from the mains. It may simply be that you need to turn the power off and on again to allow the television software to detect that you have plugged something in.
