we have a B&O Beosound Ouverture system with a Beolink 1000 remote control. We cannot get the remote to pair with the Ouverture - the system works fine when pressing the buttons directly on the Ouverture, but nothing doing with the remote. I have tried the phone camera trick to see if the remote is working, and I can see a signal.  Can you please help me resolve this issue?  I wasn't sure where the infra red control is on the Ouverture system - do you think it needs cleaning?   I would be so grateful thank you.

A Very Warm Welcome to Beoworld..

The Beolink 1000 is an infra-red remote control so it does not "pair" with the system.

Have you changed the batteries in the Beolink 1000 remote?

Regards Keith....

If you are using an audio system only: in standby mode press sound 1 store. Red light should flash to show the command to accept all remote control was successful.

THANK YOU A MILLION TIMES!  That worked, and now the remote is paired.  So kind of you to take the time and trouble.  Much appreciated Smile

Thank you so much for your suggestion - we did put new batteries in, but now have a fix with the sound 1 store suggested by Ralf.  Thank you again!

You are welcome.

But still, not paired, just the audio system was set to an option (1) that reacts to any Beolink 1000/Beo4/5/6 remote.

What B&O device/system are you trying to control?  Is your BL1000 transmitting? (have you done a camera check?)

Thank you replying to me. I have a Beocentre 3500 which the Bellini 1000 came with. I have recently acquired a Beograd Ouverture and would like the Beolink 1000 to operate both systems. The 3500 will be in the conservatory and the Ouverture will be in the bedroom, I do not want to run a cable between the two systems. I would rather make the remote portable. I have tried sound 1 store with the Ouverture in standbys mode but this hasn't worked. The remote operated the 3500 with no problems.

The BL1000 should be fine to operate the Ouverture, and the SOUND 1 STORE sequence should ensure that the IR operation is switched on.  Did the red power light blink when you pressed SOUND 1 STORE?

The Ouverture's IR sensor is behind the black panel to the left of the tape player - perhaps it is faulty?  Or very dirty?  Are you technically minded enough to attempt a repair yourself?  IR receiver boards are available on the second hand market, such as in the link below:

Thank you for your reply.

I pressed the buttons as you suggested with the ouverture in standby and then with the unit on. I then pressed the buttons one after the other and then again together. The standby light did not blink. The panel containing the sensor is perfectly clean. And the little light in that panel when the unit is on did not blink either.

I guess that the sensor is broken or faulty. I do not want to take the unit to pieces. Are there any more suggestions please ?

When pressing SOUND 1 STORE the buttons should indeed be pressed one after the other.

Are you sure that those three specific keys are working on the remote?  View with a phone camera and you should see the IR transmitters glowing.

If the remote is indeed working then there's nothing else that I can suggest other than getting the system repaired.

Interesting thread....I have an Overture and a very old but still working Beosystem 5000 (Beomaster 5000, Beogram CD50, Beocord 5000 and Beogram 5005). Unfortunately the MCP 5000 does not work and I do not have a Beolink 1000....but I do have a couple of spare Beo 4's....

The Beo 4's drive the Overture very nicely but do not operate the Beosystem 5000. Is there any way I can get the Beo 4 to operate the Beosystem 5000? There is no SOUND 1 STORE equivalent on a Beo 4....

You can carry out the same procedure with Beo4 as follows:

Turn the Beosystem to standby/off.

On the Beo4, press the POWER button and LIST together.  Then press LIST until OPTION is shown, press GO (centre button), and then press LIST to show A.OPT.  Then press 1.  The power light on the device may blink to show that it has been accepted.

But further to my above post, I just remembered that the BM5000 needs to be used with a special 'IR Code Converter' in order to be controlled by the BL1000 or Beo4.  This is a special box with a separate IR sensor.
