I was wandering if a beoplay V1 can be controlled by connecting a lintronic box to the V1 via the serial port of the lintronic and the cntrl plug of the v1

Hi Tassos - why would you want to do this? The V1 accepts beo4 commands and the Lintronic box converts them to other protocols?
My projector screen drops right in-front of the TV and as result I have no IR reception on the TV! What I am looking for is a an "external" eye so when the screen is down I can use my beo6 to control the TV. Mainly I need to control the volume.
Ahh - now all becomes clear - you can set the lintronic box to act as a repeater for the BEO4 Commands - do you have a new one with the external eye box thing as you can leave that outside the screen and the lintronic box inside the screen - there should be instructions on the lintronic website. I use one of mine as a beo4 repeater with a oneremote Internet Radio and Playmaker connected to a beolink converter and this works incredibly well in the absence of an audio master.
The problem with using the intronic as a repeater is that it will repeat the signals even when the projector screen will be up. As a result two signals will reach the TV, one from the beo6 and one from the repeater. I believe the best solution is to have an external eye for the TV and just shut off the internal receiver. I am really curious what is the cntrl plug on the back of the V1. I have a gut feeling that somehow it can work as a plug for an external ir eye or as a serial port.
Hi, yes, sorry I don't know what the port is for - maybe it is in the service manual?
I guess the only other way of using it as a repeater would be to use one of those power saver plugs on the projector so that when the projector is on it powers up the lintronic box to use a repeater, and when off the lintronic is powered down - not ideal but the only way round I can think of

You could put the TV in V.OPT4 and programme the lintronic to always output the 'LINK' code first. Hence the TV would then always get the IR commands from the lintronic, rather than the Beo6.
