Hi everyone - greetings from Germany!

I am settling into my new flat and I have a blank slate to populate with B&O items. With this amazing market of second hand B&O here (compared to the US) I am now trying to get my hands on a BeoVision! To say the least - I am overwhelmed by choice (combined with immense excitement) and need some advice on what I should get!

Basically I am looking at something I can move up a ton of stairs (no elevator in building), less than 2000EUR and a screen size of 40" (tolerance of +2, -8). My new living room is about 3m*4.5m in size.

Currently I am looking at BV5 or a 10-40. Pros / Cons? Opinions? I prefer the BV5 for its looks but recently reminded myself that these are basically analog with an aging plasma screen that could be 15 years old now! The 10-40 is a unit I have never really paid attention to, but its looking like a smart choice considered they are trading for 1200EUR even with a floor stand and a Beo4. Oh and the BV10 has HDMI etc..

The TV will be used to binge-watch Netflix and to probably play some PS4 on Sundays. Eventually planning on adding a pair of BeoLabs and BS9000.

That all being said, what would you recommend? The BV7 is of course also an option, but I can hardly keep up with all the variations!

Thanks in advance!

I should also mention that I am trying to get an AV9000 for the bedroom. That is if I can carry it up the stairs myself! Indifferent

BV10 is a good choice. Add a BL11 if you can find and you have a great sound in a nice package.

Would how ever recommend BV11. That is a clear step up from BV10.

I had a BV10-40 and traded that for the BV11 -46 I have now,

After you mentioned the Beovision 11 I remembered there was a second life 11-55 for sale near me. A great bargain because it was 2600€! ... And of course it sold [:\'(] But after all, it was a little too big.

I would also go with the BV11 - quite a bit better than the BV10 in terms of screen, sound and overall technology. The BV11-40 or 11-46 should be a bargain now. I am envious of the used market in Germany. Also lots of inexpensive cable options to connect BS9000 - you do not need a ML/NL converter.

BV11-55, BS9000, BL1, BL19, Transmitter 1, Beo4, Beocom 6000, BeoTalk1 200, Sennheiser HD600, McIntosh MHA100

Unfortunately there aren't many BV11's in my price range... Most that I have found are hovering around 4k eur.

Last night I ended up buying a BV10-40, complete with the motorized floor stand and a Beo4 of some flavor. The dealer is adding the PUC libraries I need and getting it ready in the next few days. Cannot wait for it to be delivered!

The dealer is giving me a 12 month "gaurantee" so I think I'm in good hands. Definitely a benefit of buying from a dealer. Plus if I need anything my dealer is only two blocks away so I can pop in anytime Smile

Congrats Evan! That is a classic piece of Beovision Smile That was my first flat screen Beovision. (Now replaced by a Beovision 11)

I stayed at the hotel d’Angleterre in Copenhagen a few months ago. There they had Beovision 10 in the room and I noticed I had forgotten how nice the image appeared.

Thank you, sir. Its a very exciting process Smile

The BL9 is at the top of my list and it is probably the biggest speaker I could get to fit in my tiny living room. At the very least I will have a pair of BL8000's of some flavor. If I get into surround sound, I will add a pair of BeoLab 6000's for the rear.

It is an Ikea lamp.

I left the small wooden legs off however, sort of clashes with the aluminum and steel around my apartment. Finished putting it together yesterday after forgetting to buy the light bulb when I bough the lamp - classic Ikea mistake! Big Smile

Thanks Hiort!

Each time I glance at it I wonder why I wasn't drawn to it when it released. Confused In person, it makes a much stronger impression, as with all B&O stuff. The aluminum fit and finish is very impressive.

The picture is amazing, however I am struggling to get my eyes adjusted to the glare from the glass screen during the daytime. I've never had an LCD with a glass front before this. I have no idea if this unit has the Anti-Reflex coating or not but I am guessing not since it has so much glare Laughing

The image detail is incredible. I'm always noticing fine details like reflections in the background or hairs on a character's head and the super smooth movement is wonderful.

My Beovision 11 was a pre-owned set and did not have the anti reflex coating. I bought that separate and had it installed by a B&O tech guy.

When the dealer played some music through it for me I was definitely not expecting what I heard. Even for the 32" model, it really has impressive power. I was also surprised to find that enormous woofer underneath complete with reflex port!

Unfortunately mine has no MasterLink port so I will have to make due with Apple Music as its only source.

As for that great video - I remember watching that several years ago. After carrying the BV8 from my dealer to my apartment 4(?) blocks away, I agree with David - the BV8 is indeed robust! Laughing

Another memory I won't forget is this original B&O stock photo showing the BV8 on the floor. This cemented for me the obvious placement for BeoVisions - on the floor Cool

I wish we could have an OLED version of this. Thinner at the screen, with the "orchestra pit" boldly at the bottom.

I could get by with BV8-40 at the summer house. It might make my BeoPlay A8 reduntant and be the one system for TV & music, with laid back look on the floor. Something for me to consider – this thread inspired me.

Also, if a TV is not on the wall, it does not need to be born of the modern thin-obsession!

I love the way the feet on the bottom allow you to tilt it according to your taste, I have mine set all the way to the back.

I think the tilt is something the new BeoVisions are lacking. Both the Eclipse and Avant are perfectly straight up and down in almost every configuration. The 5/7/9/10/11/14 and even the Horizon have tilt.

As far as thickness goes - I fully agree. I love the look of substance that comes with the big BeoVisions. The frame and depth of the 9 is something that makes me like it even more. Lightness has never been a priority for me regarding a TV, although it does prevent me from owning a BV9 due to the fact that my 5th floor apartment does not have elevator access! Laughing
