I've fitted new belts to a Beocord 5500 that I bought which has been working great. The sound is quite impressive for a tape deck and I think at some time the caps have been replaced. The unit has been working great for the last three months without any issues.
Recently it has developed a fault and nothing obvious seems to be wrong. It suddenly loses power whenever you press play, forward or rewind and other functions. It comes on again straight away when pressing the buttons but doesn't stay on for very long.
It doesn't seem to loose power when you repeatedly open and close the tray. But one you stop doing that it will go off.
Does anyone have any ideas before I have to take this to a repairer?
