Saw your video of the new 50’s master speaker - great that it is working well now....enjoy it!
By the way, you mentioned, that the BL17 would come off the wall again!
Did I hear that right - if yes, why?
Any particular reason - to be placed somewhere else - not as hight channels anymore, or?
P.S. I guess you have receved/read the mail I send you!
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
Hi MM,
you heard it right, I'll take them off the wall to properly test and compare them to the 18's and put them next to each other. as it stands it's not a fair comparison as part of what you hear is the difference in the room and not necessarily the speakers. So I will keep on using them as I have them set up now in the end but to properly show them in the correct state I'll bring them down

Thanks for answering.
How are they mainly set up now? As height speakers? Or as surrounds with the 18’s as rears?
They're set up as height surround while everything is on and the 18's are rears in that case. I also have them as a stereo group on their own and as full left and right side. for the latter the whole left side is set to left and the whole right side is set to right.
all works great except for the wisa being dodgy at times, but I will look in to it as christian said
Mikipidia:Not sure how common knowledge this is but i just fixed the laggy wifi on my eclipse and iam banging my head that i didn’t know this sooner. YouTube and netflix very often had to buffer but it doesn’t anymore now. All i had to to is turn of the lg screen shar function, it takes away enough bandwith to just make it laggy/stuttery which is really annoying with 200/200 internet...
Good evening,
Yes, this is even documented on the on-line Eclipse manual, but not in an obvious way. This feature is taking a lot of resources on Wifi.

Just switched mine off - not certain if it’s my imagination but it seems to stream smoother now.
Thanks for the tip.
I had no idea either. I don’t have a wi-fi problem but Netflix and iPlayer definitely seem to stream better.

Also for topics and suggestions obviously
Also if you guys have anymore photo’s to share, that would be wonderful
Have any of you seen and heard the Harmony in the flesh yet? What did you think?
What does this company do that B&O does not do.....or maybe should do?
https://www.savanteurope.co.uk/case-studies
https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20190530005521/en/
....a soundbar with WiSA transmitter built-in:
https://youtu.be/XFxXXBcdsoE
And - of course - what does B&O do, that Savant does not do?
What comes next from B&O - what is the new ‘rumoured’ streaming platform.
Interesting stuff IMO.
What do you guys think?
Another one for tonight.
In the specs of the BS Stage they don’t mention support for TuneIn - only CC and AP2 are mentioned (and BT plus QPlay for the chinese).
Can this be true?
Maybe Christian - if in the chat - can answer that question?
In the first setup video for the Stage - basics for connection to a(ny) tv - they also just mention CC and AP2.
The video is here:

aaaand we're live again right now :D
something a little different, but it's an excellent product by B&O

Nice......but John beat you 🤓
with what? I think they're different enough ( and no fair, he's a dealer and his shipping was quicker!!!)
Mikipidia: with what? I think they're different enough ( and no fair, he's a dealer and his shipping was quicker!!!)
Both videos on the same day - Johns a bit earlier.
Sure they are different - room for both 🙂
Thanks to both of you!
Interesting discussion about he behaviour of the BV Harmony, when playing ‘only-sound content’ from a video source (e.g YT) when using external L/R speakers for the playback.
I wonder what happens, when you want to upmix a 2 channel source/stereo from an audio source (e.g Deezer) to 5.1 using the TrueImage processing?
How will the built-in speakers work in that case? Should be the center speaker, then!
Will it the be open (as when in video mode)?
And what with the screen - since there is nothing to show....apart from (maybe) metadata from the source? Will that be on or muted?
Will the screen show which audio mode you are in, when you change mode (or speaker group)?
Imagine changing from audio mode to the 5.1 upmixed playback (of the same source) and back again - will be gorgeous to watch the waving lamellas 🤔
P.S. Will be fun to ask the dealers these questions 🤓
Another interesting thing is the fact, that the Stage originally was meant to be a soundbar for ALL tv’s....
.....and that the possibility of interacting with the LG/C9-tv and the controlling of both with the BeoRemote One was a bonus, an ‘add-on’.
It might seem right in order to reach a broader costumer base (in third party shops) - but it certainly is not sweet music in the ears of a long-time B&O user.
Imagine the Stage would just work with a tv without B&O integration - there would only be the BV Harmony and an old BV Eclipse to sell for the dealers and to buy for ‘old-time B&O users’.
Without the possibility to control a (C9) tv with the Beoremote One, the Stage would just be ‘another soundbar’....or a nice but rather dull BeoSound.
Glad they changed that decision, but a bit worried for the future.........if B&O controlling would come second in new products.
Just look, what you can buy as of today from B&O, when you want a BV, that is uptodate........a 77” heavy and rather pricey tv!
See the comment made in the chat during the podcast from Christian Klit, who - I suppose - should know, what he is talking about.
Before we start 3rd world war, let me just clarify that that particular comment was in regards to the design, which was being discussed at this moment (speaker width vs tv width).
Stage is intended to be a soundbar for all customers that want (really) great Bang & Olufsen sound at an affordable price point. Some of these customers may be previous owners of a B&O TV, but left for another TV-brand, often because of price. That's fair enough.
But many of these customers, and I know there are a few in here as well, has soon realized that the sound is lacking. Stage can fill that gap. They may not get B&O control, but they will get true B&O sound.
I know, Christian - but as a long time B&O user and lover, I prefer focussing on the B&O controlling....
.....that the Stage can be used by all tv users is of course very welcome and a good move from the ‘deciders’
No war intended - just don’t forget, that a lot of the (previous) B&O costumers would like (to continue) to buy B&O controlled and equiped tv’s..
If there will be a BV Eclipse MK2 or another tv with similar integration and audio processing in near future, you will see me smile 🙂
Same goes for myself, and I'm not worried :)
christiank: Same goes for myself, and I'm not worried :)
That chears me up!
...cheers me up!
No, I will not buy a Harmony - it is way too big for our livingroom (we still don’t know if there will be a 65” version of it).
In the right room it looks gorgeous.
But the speakers part can be very dominant, optical and from design.....in a somewhat smaller room.
However, it sounds amazing even on its own......having heard it on several occations!
And - with my way of using media, I would have trouble with the 28 seconds movement of the ‘wings’ - let’s see, if there will be some options there later.
(First thing I did with my BV’s was to make it start quicker!).
Besides - this simply can’t be the only full equiped B&O-tv, that they offer - we need something to choose from.....at least two solutions.
And I won’t buy the Stage either - simply because I have no need for a tv with a soundbar-only.....at least not in my livingroom.
Maybe some day - as a replacement for my V1 in the second livingroom/guestroom/office it might come handsome.
However, I have grown acostumed to the 5.1 setup I have there.
As for soundbar (from B&O), I think it is a splendid idea - a lot of those, who do not know how B&O can sound, will be very pleased and probably will love it..
But it is a soundbar (with a bought-in) Dolby processing and some added B&O-magic for the tuning of the speakers - and it looks nicer that most soundbars.
But do allow me - we are on a B&O enthusiast forum - to wish for more.
Geoff Martin once wrote an article about the sound part of the Eclipse called ‘It is not just a soundbar’.
https://www.tonmeister.ca/wordpress/2017/09/15/bo-tech-its-not-just-a-soundbar/
That is a describtion of what I need and wish for - with True Image processing, matrixed speaker outputs (wired/wireless) etc etc....a Sound Center.......all controlled by the one remote!
(And with modern decoders for not just Dolby Atmos, but also for DTS-X and even Auro3D, please).
Not necessarily looking just like the Eclipse.
How it could be designed as for fitting with an LG tv, I’ll leave up to the good guys working for B&O - they usually come up with a nice solution!
And please also for the somewhat smaller tv sizes!
One fully fletched B&O controlled tv is not enough in the portfolio!!!
A soundbar (like the Stage) is a wonderfull offer (with or without BROne controlling) for those, who don’t need/want the full package....and something, that hopefully can bring cash to the company and to the dealers.
Mikipidia:I mostly meant, would you buy the eclipse(v2)?
Alright!
When time comes and if that would be the only (full-fletched) alternative to the BV Harmony, yes!
