@beowillie will be pleased to learn that B&O was just ahead of its time -- an "angry vegan" is in the promo for Apple's latest in-ear headphones too:
(At least she has good reason to be annoyed, as she's (simulated) running in (simulated) driving rain! "Look 'determined'", the photographer shouts. "We're gonna have to crop this shot a little higher," the assistant mutters...)
Unrelated question, but speaking of topics further above, it might make a brief side-topic of interest to other viewers, some week: Do you leave your television on all day? My wife commented it was "always" flashing in the background when I was viewing your 'casts. [Edit: Surprise, except this week it's off.] Likewise does Willie play music all day (in some room or other) and just turns it off especially for his work calls and the podcast? He makes it seem like that, e.g. talking about Lutron motion sensor in the commode adjusting volume via gateway etc. etc. etc. I recall a radio station tag-line, "The Soundtrack to the Story of Your Life." (WBBM-FM,Chicago) Of course they were encouraging continuous listening for their advertisers' benefit, but there must be someone(s)...
Hi guys and gals,

Hi Michael,
Thanks for inviting me to join you on tonight's podcast, I will be at a very special location that has been in the news for B&O recently!
Kind regards, Steve.

The following problems occur when trying to watch #183 (not-live, later), which do not occur with older (I just tested #176 & #179) casts:
(1) Chat Replay is missing.
(2) Video playback has 1-second buffering lags every few seconds, even when the web's JavaScript automatically down-res'es. In this case, in-browser playback goes from Auto/480p (which is appropriate for my backwater ISP) all the way downAuto/144p but still has the same stalling. Yet I can see the "LEDs" monitoring my connection (Little Snitch) and there is a *lot* of data being sent! (Same on different browsers, though all on a Mac.)
(3) Brendan's chapter markers are not in evidence, if that matters, or was expected.
Have you switched the video format you are uploading to youtube, or are you asking for some feature that makes youtube "do it to you"? For example, trying to use the "youtube-dl" downloader (so it could stall but I could watch without glitches later) refuses to download now, claiming the .mp4 format is now "m3u8" w/ "MPD manifest", whereas the old casts just download the .mp4 without comment. This may be 100% youtube's fault or just "The New Cruelty", but if you have changed something on your end, please change it back. Thanks for checking

Good News, YT finally did it and the podcast should be up in full as usual again! The chat is also present once again

I can’t for the life of me work out how every single cat is so obsessed with boxes. But it keeps you good company! And apparently a true B&O fan! From now on no box will be good enough.
Anyway, congrats on the 28s! :) I expect a lot of content on it. It will be interesting to follow your journey with them, especially in the footsteps of your 50s.
Hi everyone,
Here's the link for tomorrow: https://youtu.be/3z_Dpl3_Fxo
We'll have a good show tomorrow and we should have the whole crew present. Any questions go as per usual and obviously we'll have some Beolab 28 talk and Henrik has a new studio too
hope to see you all there,
BTW, I did a quick new video too about the 28's and other things I recently changed
If you're interested you can find the video here: https://youtu.be/V6m0rJR1w5I
Hope you all like it
Mikipidia:It’s strange how a shiny thing can make one so enamoured once again with a speaker 28’s are lovely speakers but they are bass heavy compared to 50’s. Just fyi. Not in a bad way, they just less neutral but that makes them fun out of the box for mostly passive listening. Be interesting to see how or if this evolves.
My two impressions from listening to the 28's were these : great soundstage (similar in feel to 50s), and extremely strong bass, as in too much bass.
So one the one hand good, on the other (the strong bass) was less good to me.
Its one thing being surprised / impressed that so much bass can come from such a small cabinet, but another to consider the overall balance.
Listening to the 50s for the first time, there were / are no questions about how well balanced the sound is.
Mikipidia:Not as much as i would like on the beta sw, especially with loudness ON it’s too much imho. Streaming to them is also “worse” than when you let a BV handle it. Just listening to B&O radio, I wouldn’t call it boomy, but the bass is too strong imho on the Beta, but i don’t have enough time with them on the normal sw.

Have you not spent time listening to the 28s?
Forgive me if circumstances have made that hard / impossible.
Outside of any space considerations etc, I personally wouldn't swap 28s for 50s.
Yes the price delta makes the 28s pretty enticing, but the prominent bass was not something that I liked.
But I'm much more of a music listener than someone who cares about movies, for context.

Wish they were not still a few weeks out. I am very curious to see how they will sound in my home compared to the 50s.

Miki, can you just EQ-down the bass and get a more neutral sound you enjoy?
Or is it always very bassy, even with the EQ-ing?

I had the chance to listen to 50s back to back with 28s today at a store in Europe. I only had one song to test but the same song on both speakers clearly showed that the 50s were far more balanced than the 28s and the 28s were noticeably bass forward. I ended up using the Beosonic EQ to take all the bass out of the 28s (I mean, I slid the slider ALL the way to “less bass”) and then it was much more balanced. Bass was still nice and full sounding but more balanced. I liked both systems obviously and when adjusted, I thought the 28s were great. If they were mine, I imagine I’d leave the EQ all the way at “less bass”. But 50s are so much more expensive and physically large, I guess the two are unlikely to be cross-shopped. Both beautiful but with the default EQ, even a casual listener such as my girlfriend could hear the boosted low-end on the 28s. I’ll still take a pair!
We'll have another good show for you tomorrow celebrating the 96th birthday of B&O! We'll be joined by Anders of Sallstrom Beoliving as he's also been newly shooting pictures of the classics
Hope you all can join and as always any questions go! And here is the link for tomorrow: https://youtu.be/vHZBiu_a5-o
See you tomorrow!
Will Henrik join? It would be nice if he could give a summary of what he discussed in his recent YouTube video related to the Beoremote Halo and One quality issues and the B&O private sale:

Looks interesting but hard to follow for non Danish 😢
