i recently purchased HT 5000 speakers- TYPE 6223 series 80, including Marantz PM 450 Amp and I'am now in Jazz, Rock and Classical guitar heaven. The speakers are out of this world. The speakers have timber legs and I would love to know what year my speakers were made and if the legs are an after addition or if they are original.
Cheers Mark

Hi and congratulation for the very good choice, Beovox 5000.
Being the Type: 6223 your speakers are the Beovox 5000 MKIII version, produced between 1972-1974.
You can find the basic information about them here or here.
The legs were optional. The first version of Beovox 5000, MKI had the chrome legs with one of them having gravure "B&O, Beovox 5000" on it. I am not sure if the MKII and MKIII legs had this gravure too (here we have few experts which will answer this detail for sure ).
You can send us a picture of yours, than we can try to judge if they are genuine from B&O.
Best regards,

Hi Theomaster
Many thanks, very grateful. Will organise a picture. This was my first time on the Forum, so still trying to figure out how the site works.
Hi Esax
