You guys should start getting into the LG service menu on the Eclipse before even considering hacking the OS....

Is there a way to access the service menu on the Eclipse?

I haven’t found it. And I’m pretty sure you’ll “break” warranty if you do...

My thinking here was: The LG panel with WebOs has sold a lot world wide, and most likely there are a lot of sw developers out there that could want to enhance/improve the WebOs platform, which would also benefit us as Eclipse owners. The LG panel has performance issues, most likely parts of these issues could be improved with a better WebOS kernel. And possibly some Eclipse owners that can do coding could improve features in the LG/B&O integration as well?

A lot of assumptions! I really doubt B&O in particular likes the thought of third party freelance developers editing the code behind their £10K TV, so the likelihood of these ‘improvements’ filtering down to your Eclipse are small.

i thought the point of making it open source is to adapt it for *other* devices?

That is exactly how I also understood it!
