Good morning all
return here after some years, I recently bought a Beomaster 5000 and Beocord 5000 both dead.
Starting from Beomaster I've checked that someone have made some works on it such as recap partially PSU, change final and pilot transistors on one channel, not same type as other channel, one BF759 exploded on original channel, both big cap on PSU has leak and soiled the pcb...
When connect relais click , loudness lamp for a pair of seconds and immediately shut off, same when select a source.
First of all I would clean pcb, after following many posts on this receiver, will check R1 and R2 and complete recapping, if you have some other preliminary suggest I'll be glad to apply.
Have a nice day
MArco
Hi Marco,
I would strongly suggest you start from scratch and check every part one by one. Change rectifiers and inspect carefully the PCBs for damaged traces.
It is really sad to see cases like yours and just hoping it will end up well.
Oh, get yourself a variac, second best investment I made after a scope...
Good luck!
Hello Beo_Jean
thanks a lot for your encouragement...
Hello
after a fast check this evening found surely burned R224 and R-225 near BDV65B final transitor, again both original 0.22 resistor are burned..
Think will be hard repair this receiver, I'll try step by step..

Marco,
If the 0.22 resistors burned this is an indication that something else is going wrong. Check carefully all BDV64 & 65!
Hello Jean
I've ordered a full replacement for these transistor and all pilots also, but first would check all others around pcb, will be a long boring work...
