I just discovered today that my left side Beolab 20, currently connected to Denon X4300, does not work for some reason.

It will power on when triggered by audio but just won't output any sound.

I've tried going through the setup again on the receiver and ensuring the lines are plugged in correctly but didn't resolve the issue.

Was wondering if anyone have an idea on the cause?

Thanks.

Hi lightsyde,

It could be worth swapping over the cables between the left and right speakers to see if the fault "swaps" with the cables or stays with the same speaker.  This could just be an issue with the receiver settings or the cable, so it is always worth trying a few simple checks just in case.

Another good test is to plug in the Audessey set-up microphone that was supplied with the receiver into the socket on the front panel - this should make the receiver go into speaker testing mode and tones will be sent to each speaker in turn.

Please let us know what you find out......

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.

Hi Steve,

Sorry for the delay on reporting back as I was on a business trip.

I just tried swapping the cables between the left and right speakers and now both speakers are working again.

Not sure why since before I swapped the cables I made sure they were connected securely.

If I run into any more issues, I will check back in.

Until then, thank you very much for your help!
