Help. i am trying to install apple tv on a BV10-46. and it seems it only has 2 HDMI connections, set box, dvd...please tell me i am not seeing this right
it is true, i cant find an HDMI, after so much money spent on B and O, always thinking should this be the time to change...but always the investment continues...it is a vicious cycle. i am really starting to think i have had enough. i just spent 2k Euros on moving and new stands and Blue ray...etc...but I think I have had it!!! I do love the design, but it is not enough, the cost of service, of the products, its lack of practicaliy...and lack of tecnology!!! I really have had it. to bring a guy over to install the APPLEtv if possible will cost another 500 bucks...this is crazy. i am going to sell it all!! anybody in switzerland interested please get in touch with me!!!
i have a BS9000, BL8000, BL3, BS2, BV10-46 and an AVANT(good old times of B&O)
The first version of the 10 only had 2 hdmi inputs, the later 3 - wich is too little in my opinion. There is hdmi splitter to buy in normal retail stores. There is also a B&O type so you can use your remote to change the extra sources.
Hi
Agree, the first versions of the BV10 and BV8 only had 2 HDMI, that was NOT OK!
I have a 8-40 that also only have 2 HDMI, and for my set box I use the YPbPr connector. It delivers me 720p and I can not see the difference between YPbPr and HDMI here. Then I use the HDMI for a Tvix and Apple TV.
It might be a workable solution for you.
Damn, I'm convinced that the 46" had three HDMIs are standard. Do you have to have your DVD player connected to it all of the time??? If you have many favourite DVDs have you thought about using HANDBRAKE software to convert all of your DVDs to MP4 for your iTunes library???
I've recently had the pleasure to do this and being honest, i've NEVER used my DVD player since.
It's a truly wonderful piece of software. I use it for downloading / converting 1080p YouTube videos too :) :) :)
TDB don't despair, some wonderful ideas and solutions from the guys here :)
thanks guys. i am despairing...a bit. now i need to go for a drive to go find a splitter, unbelievable... i am definetely going for handbrake, just need to have time to figure it out.
if you see a previous post by me, i was deciding on going for a BS5 with BM5 or not, and a friend said only if i had lost my brain, told me to get to an apple store immediately and buy Apple TV it would solve all my music issues and video streaming...for 99 bucks..i get home and i cant install it...my friend owns a Samsung 8000...and laughed is head off...
have you tried to connect anything on the BV10...you crawl...it is unbelievable we buy this stuff. you guys are better than B&O. thanks
BTW, Paul, i only use my Blue Ray for USB connection, in CH we can download and watch movies legally as long as it is for private usage. that is one of the reasons i wanted to have an apple TV...better sound, picture...etc. feel better with the world...

Yes, then you can expand with 3 extra HDMI sources, that is true. But it does cost a little (200$-300$) :-(
And you SW in the TV must be on the right version also. Including PUC controls.
I think it is the Gefen products that is used, but I have not figured out how it works.
TDK Handbrake is so simple to use. I'm a complete IT no no guy and I can use it. JUst set it to MP4 and large file and you can also increase the gain under AUDIO and I think that's all there is to it. On my MacBook it takes around 40 mins to rip a 2 hour DVD, hope that helps but yes, i'm loving it :) :) :)
Sorry TDB not TDK damn :)
Hallo TDB,
You have probably already read about the solution: "for the set box use the YPbPr connector."
If that is not good enough for you, or you want more connections, go get a switch, or - much better - ask your B&O-dealer for a puc-compatible switch. B&O is recommending the Atlona nowadays, but the Gefen would work as well.
Surely you will have to pay for updating the puc-table. But ask the dealer for the Apple Remote-puc (for the ATV) as well - and consider if you might someday buy a Bluray-player (and which one?) to replace your DVD-player.
The Handbrake-solution works well - but is (in my opinion) too much work, and you need a powerfull PC/MAC for it!
And.....I agree 2 HDMI is far too few on a tv nowadays - but was not as the BV10 was released. The BV11 has 6
There is a tv - and there is a BV
