Hey,

Recently I bought a Beomaster 4400. The radio does receive a number of stations and the reception is good  but the sound remains awful, too bad to listen to. Also the stereo indicator doesn't work.

If I connect my Beogram 4002 to it, the sound is great better tegen my Beomaster 3000-2 which Is use every day.

If I replace all capacitors from the tuner section, is this enough or are there other components that require attention?

Thanks

Kristof

I just had a similar issue see this thread https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/30179.aspx?PageIndex=7

Replaced the decoder IC and the variable capacitor, only because the capacitor looked in poor condition and was hard to turn.

Thanks Craig, very useful thread.

If I replace the IC decoder the stereo indicator will work, if I understand correctly it will also improve sound quality due to a better left and right channel seperation?

Thanks

Kristof

l can only tell you that replacing the IC and variable capacitor sorted my problem, you may have other issues too....however I would certainly replace your IC

Your IC is now in the post.....let me know when it arrives, postage £2.75 + £1.00 = £3.75............lets hope it sorts your problem out.

Hi Craig, I just replaced the IC and variable capacitor.

Stereo light comes up. I have very good reception , no distortion and great sound in both channels.

Thanks a lot
