Hello

I had an issue with my.h8 that I posted on this forum recently. I'm still backwards and forwards with bang and Olufaen about this but they have stated to me that

"we are unable to arrange any type of refund or exchange as our B&O products are made essentially for Apple products, and all tests completed on your H8 were with Apple devices. I can confirm that many Android devices do function flawlessly with our BeoPlay products, but we cannot guarantee this"

Am I an idiot here? Nowhere I can see does marketing literature refer to their devices only being supported on Apple, nor does it say warranties don't extend to Android

Does anyone have any experience with this?

This is totally unacceptable

I suggest you do the following:

1. Verify that Warranty agreement doesn't explicitly specify Apple-only, or no-Andoroid support and take screenshots

2. Verify that Web-site tech specs don't explicitly specify Apple-only, or no-Andoroid support and take screenshots

if at this stage you are 100% certain that you have been mistreated, then proceed to next step:

3. Make a copy of email responses from BO support with timestamps

4. Make a public post on FaceBook/Twitter with evidence tagging BO

5. If you paid with AMEX, file a chargeback case

6. Send email with link to your post to technical media: Tech Crunch (directly to  Mike Butcher), Engadget, or whatever is relevant in your Geo.

At this stage you should have your case already resolved, if it is not, take all the evidence and seek support with solicitor or your local consumer rights protection body going as hard as filing a class suite.

This mediocre support humiliation has to stop.

...are made essentially...

???

What a joke Angry

I think the word here is “essentially”, i.e. mainly but not only ; so, if not compatible, it should be fully written.

Wow....

wait a Minute.

I use my H8 with Apple and Android.

Whatever your issue it, it might just be that your device is not compatible (e.g. Bluetooth Version or Amazon (in my case) does not want to Support Headset functions).

So without Details it is not possible to judge.

For sure the "we only Support apple" Statement is wrong and a bad excuse even though it might have been said as some sort of Explanation.

Hey. I didn't want to go over the full details but I have two pairs of h8 and one h8i. The second h8 and the h8i work on my device. It doesn't work on several different android devices though - randomly stopped working one day. Was fine for 14 months.

For anyone tracking this, it has taken several more weeks for them to concede I was indeed correct, only because I could scientifically test another h8 and h8i I owned.

They've replaced my h8 with an h8i, but the whole support experience and 'Android isnt guaranteed' has put me off ever purchasing a B&O product again.
