Congrats! I've coincidentally been thinking about the same thing  - to replace my BL8000s to a pair of white BL9s so please let us know how it sounds after you've used them a while.

I swapped my 8ks for 9s - it was like i was suddenly listening in HD! I found it a massive improvement, particularly as the acoustic lens gave a much more even spread of sound across the room from any sofa. Recommended! I also have 3s at the rear, they are brilliant. Worth the money over say 4ks or 4s, those lenses really are fantastic for spreading the sound and giving great detail.

Cannot wait to read your comparsion (sound-wise) between the 8000s and the 9s :); were the 8000s the MK2 (Bass Update?).

No don't tempt me! I've just managed to talk myself out of upgrading my 8k/2 setup to 9s. I can't afford it! :)

Wow ! What a differance to hear...sounds come alive with a great dispersal....no need for a sub because these have so much bass... Currently set 'corner' to dampen the bass a bit.

Currently trying differant positions/angles to get optimum sound.

Congrats to your new lab 9´s.

You`ll love them! Take some time and listen to the music the lab 8000 were not able to offer. They sound so much better.

Mdjolly1973,

if you were suprised regarding the bass volume, wait some hundert hours, your BL9 will sound much better than today.

Im just a bit confused with the 'wall free and corner' settings-does anyone know what setting is the LEAST bass and MOST bass?

Corner is least bass, free is most bass, wall is in the middle :)

Corner setting is least bass, followed by wall setting, then free setting for the most. Walls and especially corners accentuate bass, so the switch is there to compensate.

I have also just purchased a pair of 9's and they are amazing!

I love how the sound is spread out in the room. They are very impressive!

It is almost hard to point out where the speaker is in the room if you close your eyes.

Mine are placed in the back, but you don't feel like that you are sitting right next to a speaker.
