I bought these nice Beovox 1600 speakers from Martin some month ago, they got a good cleaning and new caps.

Since I started on my BM 4400 (2-3 month), I have been listening to them every time I was in the workshop, they sound better than my S45 (83) connected to my BM 2400, they are hanging on the wall wide apart, of the wall they sound kind of lifeless, but on the wall its a totally different speaker.

If you ever find a pair, buy them.

These are type 6219, 2 way speaker, there are 3 way models, type 6228 and 6236, Beocentral and Beoworld do not have the 6219 in their product list.

You know what "bagger" in general (as seen on the 2nd pic) means in our language Soren? Don't dare to say.......Big Smile

And don't  try to use a translation tool cause that's not what it is!

Hopefully we're not talking about buggery on a family web site.

Why do you think that? Never thought about that to be honest! If you would like to know, it has the same meaning as "crap"!

My Danish vocabulary may be old as didn't live in that nice country for more than 40 years, but as languages changes it may be a bad word that I don't know of, but thats impossible I know them all Big Smile

They not only look great, I have never imagined that a pair of 2 way small speakers could sound that good.

Now these will have to go with my BM 901, BG 1202, but then I'm missing the Reel to Reel Beocord 1200, but I'm sure you will bring me one when visiting in January, or just leave it in Houston, I got some friends there. Big SmileBig Smile

According to Beocentral, the 1600s are three way speakers. And oddly enough, they have dome midragnes but cone tweeters. So from a technical standpoint these are rather unique and therefore worth preserving. If they sound good too, it's the icing on the cake. But I must say, I'm sceptical to those cone tweeters.

Any idea how heavy this beast is? Got two of those reel to reel, can't recall which type but one has been posted a while ago. I think one still works, the other I don't know!

Both are nominated for the bin so if you're in the neighborhood you may pick them up for free!Big SmileBig Smile
