Trying to set up my 4500.  Have two cd players and an aux cord for my chromecast.  The remote never functioned; bought another and same thing; likely something in the main unit.

Thinking of running a second set of speakers in another room, and thought about the xtra speaker kit.

Found an MCL2 and extra speaker kit.  Is that the right unit, box says 8920475 xtra speaker kit.

Any of the other kits work with my 4500? How about the MCL 2P?

Thanks, Chris

It sounds like your Beomaster is in A.Option 0, which means that it does not respond to remote commands.

To change, with the system turned off (at standby) this, press SOUND, 2, STORE on the remote.  The remotes should now work.  This assumes that the remotes are BL1000s.

And further to my last, for speakers in another room:

If you are content that the volume is not controlled independently, then an MCL2A extra speaker kit is fine.  You just need the extra cabling and some passive speakers.

If you wish to control the volume in the link room independently to the main room, then you  need an MCL2AV.  This needs to be powered independently of the Beomaster, hence you need to get hold of one with a power supply.  If you want to use passive speakers with the MCL2AV, then an MCL2P will provide the amplification, with the added advantage of a power output for the MCL2AV.

Sounds complicated I know, but it's all explained in the MCL2 handbook which you could download if you upgraded to silver membership! Smile
