Purchased my first B & O Sound System, BS5 & BM5 (used). I connected the 3 cables, (4 prong power cable, USB and videovideo cable) - Master Unit BM5 to the BS5. Then I plugged in the power cable from the wall outlet. Even though the LED lit up on the BS5, there was no display. What am I missing?
Does the LED on the Beosound 5 display light up?
Yes. The LED on the Beosound 5 display does light up. I am in California and my unit (BS5 & BM5) was purchased from the UK. Could the difference in power contribute to my issue?
I am not sure about that, but it would be very easy to replace the power supply of the Beomaster. Does the LED on the Beomaster shine in red or green? Is there any change if you press the power button on the Beomaster? Is the led on the Beosound red or does it blink?
The LED on the Beomaster 5 shines in a solid non-blinking red. There is no change when I press the power button on the Beomaster 5.
I have an update... I went to the Bang & Olufsen store and explained my situation. The B&O store said my problem is A/C current. We (USA) are on a 110v/120v system and my BM5 is from the UK which is on a 240v system. B&O store suggested purchasing a power converter/transformer and my problem should be solved. I took there suggestion and my problem was resolved.
However, now I have a new issue...... After I get a display (for about 10 sec.) on the screen, the screen goes blank then the LED on the screen blinks what appears to be a more code signal, S.O.S., 3 long blinks followed by 3 short blinks. Now what?! Can anyone help?
Getting very frustrating.....
Hi
I am writing from Denmark. I will try to assist you. The internal power supply can work on 100-127 volt and 220-240. Inside the BM 5 on the power supply there is a jumper. Jumper installed is 100-127 volt NO jumper installed is 220-240 volt. Ii is clearly marked on the PSO board. The PSU board is located under the harddrive.
Read the manual and setup manual carefully. Both can be found on Beoworld.
Next start up the system.. When the led is red the BM is on st.by, green operating. Start up the system a wait. It can take some times up to 30 min to BM 5 and BS 5. If it freezes do the following: Disconnect the BS 5 from BM 5 and reststart. Your BM 5 must be connected to a TV, and ML connected Then go into the configuration menu go down to restore, and do a complete image restore.
Then register the product, then update via the internet.
When done, it takes the times i takes, the switch of the power connect USB cable and Power cable to BS 5 and restart system.
Pls be advised: You MUST be registered at B&O via the net, and be connected to the internet during startup when BS 5 is connected. Following procedures in the setup manual
