Hi,

here is my actual setup.  I am planning to hang the BL4000 on the wall, but since i am still missing a center speaker, i'm also planning to add a pair of BL3 placed on the cabinet, under the BL4000 (i don't like the BL7 serie)

I would use the BL3 as master speakers for the Encore, the BM7000 (hidden in the cabinet) and left-right for the BV 7-40, and the Hanged BL4000 as center. I am just afraid about the sound I will have with this setup .

Any other ideas ? What about a single BL4000 above the BV7 ? (get rid of the cabinet and go for a BV11 is not an option I can consider Stick out tongue, )

 Thanks for your advices

Eric

I suppose you could use both BL4000s as a center, wall mounted above the screen. But I don't know if it might sound slightly strange with the sound coming from above the TV. No rears I assume?

Why don't you like the 7 series? I can see how a 7-2 wouldn't really fit on that cabinet without making the system a little tall and unwealdy, but they have been designed for that purpose...

I don't think it would sound strange, as there is something called "psychoacoustics" that makes your brain thinks the sound comes from the image when you watch TV. There is no big difference between a speaker under a TV (BV10-11-12-7... And every TV on the market!!) and a speaker at the top of the TV, as long as the speaker is "firing" in your direction.

I just think that one or 2 bl4000 at the top of the BV7 will look strange. They are quite big visually, even in full mirror finish.

What about selling the BL4000 and buying a second-hand BL7? It's not too expensive (look at Lifetyle AV...)

If I go for a BL7, i will have to put the TV a bit higher ( min 30 cm) on the wall, and since it is already a liitle too high, it will not be confortable to watch TV anymore.

That' why I am looking for another solution.

Just thinking aloud here, what about using a different AV cabinet - one that allows you to sit the centre speaker on the top shelf, under the TV. It would also be a good chance to get a slightly lower cabinet to better suit the viewing angle of the BV7. It seems a shame to get rid of a very nice looking cabinet, but it could provide a solution to an otherwise tricky situation.

You could also then use a BeoLink passive amp and a passive speaker of your choice, rather than a costly/bulky BeoLab. Just an idea!

Cheers, Jon

I hardly negociate with my wife to change the cabinet, but not an easy task !

I already had a look to use the beolink passive solution, with a loewe speaker, not yet decided if i will go for it or not. I fear to be disappointed with such a solution.

In my opinion the tv is set to high. I used to have my tv at the same hight. Now I have a BV10-46 on eiselstand on the floor. It is a nicer for the head to sit like that. Talk to your gf and let her try.. I think the cabinet will fly away from where it is now.. Maybe you can have the cabinet elsewere..?

An alternative if possible is to redesign the cabinet abit, cut the top off on the doors so it is open and place the speakers there :)

I agree with Rikard. I think the TV is too high as it is. I think it would look great on a stand half that height, with a low BV7-40 table stand, 7-2 speaker, your new Lab 3s wall mounted and then your existing 4000s moved to the rear. That would be a sweet setup!
