I was trying to get a reply from members of the German Forum. Unfortunately no one could help. Maybe the chance here is much better?

I have another BeoSystem 2500 hanging on my wall - and I enjoy it every day...

Now there is a problem with the glass doors.
Approaching the system the doors open as they should. But they don't close again.
I cannot even close them manually (by pushing them). The mechanical resistance is too high. Only when I disconnect the system from the power supply (plug out) it's easily possible pushing the doors. When the power is back, they remain closed - until the next approach...

It feels as if the motor continues to work when doors are open and as if I am pushing against the motor when trying to close them with power on.

Anybody an idea?
Or even the solution?

I would be happy!

Greetings from Sydney

Hi,

I believe there's a switch on the main pulley from the mechanism to detect the end of course and stop the motor. Maybe it dont close anymore.

What i would do:

1 - first of all overtime: clean and lube the rails.

2 - remove the glass doors: if it's a belt problem, removing the weight of the doors sometime helps to figure it out.

3 - remove the black side covers: you'll see if the motor keep spinning or if it stops as expected. You'll also see if the motor dont spin reverse or if it's the belt that slips. Sometimes the belt can work in one way and not in the other. If the motor keep spinning, it's a contact related issue. Check it, it's too thin cooper blades, pushed one against the other by a "finger" at the main pulley's base.

If none of this helps, its beyond my knowledge, but pretty sure, someone here will tell you more.

Regards.
