I to all,
I have a Beocenter 2 with Digital Radio Module (DAB).
Can I Upgrade this one to receive DAB+ ?
Thanks for reply
stpierre
What type number and serial number does the switch unit have? If a type 2825 or higher, the answer is yes - you will need the DAB+ module and the software will need upgrading. If a MK1, you need a serial number after 18120924.
It is not available in the UK as DAB+ is not used here!!

Hi Peter,Tanks for your reply, I'm living in Belgium and DAB+ starting soon !Broadcast are in test with RTBF.
DAB exists no longer here in switzerland. DAB+ is working since a few days.
Asked my dealer about the upgrade for my Beocenter 2 - he'll come back to me later this week and do clearification about the price.I only use Radio as wake up call in the morning - can also use N-Radio instead of Radio. Depends on the price for the upgrade, but knowing from experience, B&O prices are high for any upgrades...
Hi Peter,
Here is the features of my Beocenter 2
Type No : 2811Item No : 1280016Serial No : 18278420Acc : DAB
If I understand your reply, I have a MK1 with a serial number after 18120924, and it is possible to upgrade this one.
Do I need only an upgrade of the software or I'll need a DAB+ module ?
Thanks for reply and sorry for my poor english.
Regards
Thanks to "carlito" for your comment
Upgrade will cost 850CHF which is around 700euros.
You need a software update and a replacement module - not cheap!!
Thanks to peter and carlito .
I imagine it could be cheaper to sell it and buy a DAB version. I sold a couple of DAB BC2s earlier this year for £650 - £700... almost the same as this potential upgrade.

The most Beocenter 2 that you can buy as second life are with DAB and not with DAB+
My workaround was to listen N.Radio instead of DAB Radio.
Or get one of these and add wifi as well!

It is the change to DAB+ rather than adding DAB. The OP seems to have DAB but this is no longer broadcast where he is.
