This was news to me! It's not mentioned on the beointegration site yet. I linked my accounts but wasn't abel to get anything to happen. I'm finding that Alexa does not understand, for example "BeoSound One." She thinks I'm saying other things such as "B.O" or "B.L."

@beojeff

You could rename your BS1 to something, that this demanding lady understands, maybe.

It is not to hard to program, you put in a scene not shades or lights just scenes. Rename them in the Alexa app to something she understands like bathroom lights and the she operates them. Presumably you can do the same to trigger an tv however i think you will find that you still need to set every scene separately, like tv kitchen 1, tv kitchen 2, etc. She does not understand 100 if you do not program the scene.

This is my first donkey setup but works;

Made the scene in the beolink app, loaded it in the alexa skills and it works. I would not fool around with long commands like bang & olufsen, just beosound+zone would do the trick except haven’t found out if it needs a source also like Deezer or TuneIn.

You can do also a lot with IFTTT but I am not sure it works without Khimo.

Did you do anything special to get the devices recognized by Alexa?

Under devices, I can only get it to see my Hue lights and Nest thermostat. No B&O devices will appear. Nothing at all shows up under Scenes -- even though I have many Scenes programmed.

Did you authorize Khimo to get acces, you need to. On any device you use to get contact seperatly. Eg. Ipad, iphone, all seperate. Also in the skill, you need to grand acces. You do not need khimo to get to see hue lights, if you look at my previous pictures it says blgw, otherwise it simply contacts you hue bridge.

You also need to log in at Khimo, see if you can use the sources on line. Eg. Can you operate anything from the webbrowser Khimo, it will ask you for acces.

It is really beta version in the webbrowser, it does not show all sources.

Yes

I’ve gotten all of the items online. But can’t get anything from the B&O products.

The others are online and show up. ... but are non-responsive ... maybe this will resolve itself.

Ok, what I have done. I have tried and make a macro on the blgw, but I am not that good Wink.

You can go in the beolink 2 app, create a scene on example kitchen radio, in my case an Essence MKII. Set volume and radiostation, in my case volume 30 radio 2.

Make sure it is on the scene tab of the beolink 2 app.

Then discover a scene in the Alexa app. Rename to “Kitchen Radio”. Do not use beosound or what ever. Than “ALEXA, turn on kitchen radio”. Just rename Kitchen radio, nothing more.

First try these commands as you can later rename them I am sure as they work for me. Alexa does not has always the best ears....Devil

Got a new skill but it sounds nutssssCool

“Alexa, turn on goodbye!”

It triggers a scene where the skylights closes, radio’s standby, beovision standby lights and so on.

This is so cool, when I leave in the morning, but the command sucks. Does it only work with the command “turn on” like IFTTT “trigger”?

Khimo got the devices to appear, but I can't edit the names into names without "beo" so that Alexa can comprehend correctly.

Worse, now my IFTTT no longer works between Alexa and my BLGW!

Dag Jeff,

Look at my setup, you can change the commands in the Alexa app, no need for Khimo. The name between the gateway and the command differ between BLGW and the Alexa app.

This is under smart home in the Alexa app. I use edit name for the core in the bathroom to bathroom radio.

I use ‘away’ for this one... I always thought it sounded better than turning on goodbye

Other question, if you are at your local LAN, do you need Khimo for IFTTT. Reason for asking, I do not need remote acces to my home. Camera’s are not really sharp in the beolink app and I do not wish to put my alarm system in the gateway, I have a remote on my keys and this feels more secure to keep it seperate.

I believe that Khimo is required for all IFTTT triggers

Even if on the LAN.

I don’t use the away from home function that often either but I do like the Alexa Integration so I just paid the money.

As is usually, Khimo is operating at amateur hour. After alerting them of the issues, these were their responses:

"We have asked Amazon regarding this issue, it seems that there is a problem on their side. Name edition for different resources than B&O products (as lights, thermostats, etc.) it´s possible. A workaround for this issue is to change the name of B&O products in BLGW and tell Alexa to re-discover your devices. What words Alexa can or can not understand it´s out of our reach, it´s completely an Alexa issue.
We will let you know what Amazon has to tell us regarding this issue.
Best,
the Khimo.com team.-"
And later:
"Amazon told us that name edition for speakers it´s not possible through Alexa App. The reasons aren´t really clear, they said that it´s because of Bluetooth pairing and they need to maintain the device name as it´s discovered. If you have more questions regarding this issue don´t hesitate in contact Amazon.
So, the only way to do that it´s changing the respective name in the BLGW configuration and re-discover devices.
Best,
the Khimo.com team.-"

I must say that I've never been impressed with Khimo. This is not B&O. It's another company that B&O has used for software development. I just don't feel that they reflect the quality and spirit of B&O. They weren't even aware of these issues until I brought them to their attention.

See here:

They look really nice. I cannot acces camera”s in the webbrowser, that is annoying as I bought a touch screen in the hall.

I finally got everything to work including the Lutron lights! The guy who installed it is one of the best in the Netherlands. I had ask a few dealers no one wanted to burn there hands on the Lutron or the Skylights.

A pic from the touch screen still not fully programmed but getting results. No camera in the webbrowser as you can see.Geeked Can somebody please help me out as I am not confident in beocare.

I use dome camera”s Hikvision 2342

I am now discovering your problem, got the same, however I use macro’s so

Bathroom Core - TuneIn-set radio 3 -volume 30- HUE Scene.

Command is turn on bathroom and it works. The bad part is that Alexa only discovers macro”s when not hidden so I now hide the virtual buttons that have the same macro[:\'(]

Got a challenge, i cannot seem to program to set the essence in standby, tried delay etc. Problem is Alexa is on the line in of the essense, when I listen to TuneIn and give the comand Alexa stop kitchen radio it triggers the line in, although the essence stops playing the line in is still triggered. Tried a delay of 10 seconds nothing?

Any ideaWink

Ok it actually does not simply triggers a macro, but she sets the parameters. It isn’t working really well, basicly a waste of time

Anyone experiencing problems with Khimo today? I have made a new electric spice rack in the kitchen through Vera and a RFXtrx controller and a KaKu blind switch Big Smile. I was running a scene in IFTTT but sending it down I am having trouble connecting. Also other scenes do not trigger anymore.

I was having trouble connecting this morning. I was getting a message on the BLGW setup screen that I needed to verify my khimo credentials. I figured it might have had something to do with my Khimo subscription that just renewed last week. Oddly, it sorted itself out and started working again without me doing anything. Odd.
