So I brought a joblot of the following on ebag for £170:

Beomaster 5500

Beocord 5500

Beogram CD 5500

Beogram CD 6500

Beomaster 6500

A Beolink 1000 remote was included but most of the buttons dont work, which remote should I buy on ebag to operate these items? I'm thinking along the lines of Beo4 or the beosystem master control but not quiet sure which one will work.

You can use the Beolink 1000, Beo 4, Master Control Panels 5500, 6500, or Beolink 7000

Does your Beolink 100 fully operate your 5500 & 6500 ?

My beolink 100 cant control volume or rewind / forward / play etc!

What is number one best option?

For full control, probably one of the MCP units. Note an MCP 5000 will only control a Beomaster 5000. It’s not compatible with the 5500, 6500, or 7000.

Thanks for letting me know I almost brought the MCP 5000 the other day!

Will the Beo4 control all the other units?

The Beolink 1000 and Beo4 will work the majority of features on the 5500/6500/7000. To work the programming you need a MCP5500/6500. The Beolink 7000 will work with some 5500s but they need to have updated software and many don't. If you want to use a BL7000, get a BM6500 or 7000 or a BC9500.

My beolink 1000 is only working the on/off button.

I'm getting Beo4.
