I am considering to buy a Beogram or a non-B&O turntable.

Wondering whether I can connect it with a Beosound 1 or other B&O speakers? As easy as plugging it into the line-in?

The (old, which I suppose, that you mean) BeoSound 1 has an Aux-input.

You will need the appropriate cable (Steve can provide this), and you must turn on the input

either manually pushing the two arrows around the ’CD’ button or with a Beo remote using ‘A.Aux’.

Depedent on the turntable you will need a RIAA preamp as well.

The new BeoSound has no line-in connection, that could be used.

Hi Steve1977,

MM is correct, you can use a turntable with the old (CD player) Beosound 1, but not the new wireless version.  Most turntable need a phono pre-amp like this one to boost the signal: https://soundsheavenly.com/beogram-record-players/pre-amp-bundle-for-bo-beogram-and-all-turntables

For other Beolab speakers, you will generally need a music system with a volume control connected between the turntable and the speakers to let you adjust the volume.  Please let us know which model of speakers you choose and we can assist further.

Kind regards, Steve.

Thanks for your quick replies. i actually meant the new BS1, but forgot it lacks a line-in. what about BS2 or A9? could i connect a turn table to it? would this make sense?

Hi,

The new Beosound 1 doesn't have a line input, so you can't link a turntable to this.  However, you can use a turntable with either Beosound 2 or Beoplay A9 via the pre-amp mentioned above (there are options to choose the output cable to suit your needs, ie. 3.5mm for BS2 or twin RCA for A9).

Kind regards, Steve.

Thabks. this is great! i’d assume it would be even better for me to find a record player including a pre-amp? would love to avoid “yet another black box” that needs a power cable and i’ll need to hide away somehow.

Don't forget that once you have connected a turntable to BeoSound 2 or other product with line in, you can "Multi room" to any other speaker on the same network including BeoSound 1. So you can listen to your vinyl through BeoSound 1 in another room.

It works a treat.
