Chris Townsend:There are some great bargains to be had. I saw a 32 inch with complimentary Beolab 6000s go for just over £500. Beolit 15, Beoplay A2, H6/H2, Form 2, Beoplay A3, Beovision 5-42 connected to a DVD1
The V1 is a great BV - I love my 32” version.
You surely can get a 40” at a resonable prize.
Never heard anyone really complain over this one....apart from those who don’t like the design of it ;-)
Besides, it’s a good start for - or addition to - a NL setup.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
I've been looking at V1s with a view to buying another and I've certainly not seen a £500 example. The 32" is advertised for up to 50% more from what I've seen from looking on and off for some time. They are great sets.

I'm not surprised with it presented like that!
Chris Hassell:Hi all, I’m thinking of buying an as-new 2012 40” V1. Anyone got any thoughts? It’s a great TV yeah? Cheers Chris

I have a V1-40, and I love it. With the BV11 and Avant 1G, it is the last "real" B&O TV. If you can live with the design (I can), and understand that the "Smart" part of any TV is anyway inferior to an AppleTV, it is a bargain at any price. I connected 2 Beolab 8000 (bought used), and I have an always-working Home Cinema system with amazing sound and a single remote control.
In the 3 years I have the TV, it has not crashed once.

IMHO that stand is a disgrace to the design of a V1!
What fits extraordinary well to other BV’s, does not have to fit with the V1.
A V1 is ‘it’s own kind’ and should stay so.
Wall mount is best. Or ceiling for the V1.
BV11 sir....the V1 is funky i guess, but the BV11 is classy and just a better TV, once you account for the sound.

I had the BV14 in my bedroom for 6 months, replaced by a gen 1 Avant.
The 14 design looked just outstanding in the bedroom, i do miss it - i was special mounted on the wall.
Still very happy with the Avant though, despite not being an LCD fan, its an excellent all round well functioning unit.
Hope the Eclipse isn't gong back....? ( no need to answer)
excellent, pleased to hear that.
Haven't gone down the HDR route yet, though tempted....
