When pressin play, the arm comes across but stops just short of the record edge. When going back to rest it seems to try and push past rest.

Anyone know how to resolve this

A good cleaning and lubricating will probably help, also consider changing the belts if not done already

Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.

There is an adjustment for this in the form of an excentric at the foot of the carriage.

Belts changed not long ago, I was going for the "open it up and have a look" approach but was hoping for a pointer to something specific before I started.

UPDATE !!

Found both adjusters for 17cm and 30cm set down, both now adjusted to maximum and it's closer but still drops off the record edge, it doesn't try to push past rest on return so some improvement. Could the cord that runs round theses pulleys have stretched ?.

There is a single adjustment, an excentric, at the foot of the carriage.
Take off the platter, push the carriage left and you can see it.

Hi Martin,

I'm sure your helped me with a part for my beocord 5500, the drive wire has now unloaded itself, I reckon it must have stretched as no adjustment would get it to reach the record edge.

Can you help with a replacement drive wire for the beogram 6500 ?

Clive
