Hi guys/girls.
In the launch video for the BV11 Tue is speaking about gaming and the experience of the TV. Meaning that they are targeting the TV against such uses also. The V1 with the same video engine is to slow to work good with games. How is the BV11? Is it the same? Will they fixe it on both units? For the price of a V1 and the BV11 I can not really understand how they can allow for such a lag that games gets almost unplayable for many. I don't game alot myself but it happens and I do not want comments such as "get another TV if you are a gamer" like people already has told each other here in other threads, I do not think there is 'one' b&o customer. Everyone is different and perhaps another person in the family enjoys gaming also, they should not be dismissed either.
Beolab 50, Beolab 8000 x 2, Beolab 4000 x 2, BeoSound Core, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound Century, BeoLit 15, BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay P2, BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen, BeoPlay H6, EarSet 3i, BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40, BeoCom 6000 and so much else :)

Of course, I agree. I'm no gamer (I'll play the odd racing game here or there), but a few years ago, when I temporarily ran a business from my apartment, one of my employees as an avid gamer and regularly booted up the PS3 at lunch or at the end of the day. Sadly though, this was the time when I owned a BV7 MKIII, along with the black issues and it made many games unplayable. I spent time arguing it was the PS3, that it wasn't rendering properly (poor excuse). He borrowed one of the games, tried it on his PS3 connected to his LG TV and it was completely fine. Next time I was around his place, the gaming experience was very different - much better rendering of blacks on his cheap LG. I was embarrassed. Luckily this was much improved with the BV7 MKIV.
But, you're right. Although the target audience for a B&O TV is far different from a person who would want to connect a PS3, most of these (potential) owners have kids who want to play games on the TV, so they need to get this right.
Adults play games too you know. How old do you think the average games designer / programmer / tester ; 14 ?
Miyamoto is in his late 40's for example.
To claim gaming is just for kids is just plain silly. It's a massive market and one bno would be foolish to ignore.
Has anybody here bought a BV11 yet and can provide some hands-on experience feedback?

I think "kids" was used loosely Flappo. Don't read too much in to it. Of course "adults" play games. However, by definition these are still not B&O's original target audience. Ironically though, more so with the V1, which of course is poor for games. Ooh, that irony hurts.
Tue even went to great lengths to mention how good the BV11 was for gaming.
I do hope he doesn't end up with egg on his face.
From all accounts the V1 is useless.
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
"Pardon me sir, you bought a Rolls Royce, it is not ment to go fast, merely be exclusive." - I do not think this is how a Rolls Royce representative would say about performance. But this is obviously what B&O thinks, or is it not?
Reminds me of when I bought a B&O Century and it was incapable of playing dance music. It just sounded lifeless & uninvolving and that damn plastic cabinet totally vibrated :( Nice design but useless and the electric door sometimes worked but most of the time jammed. First one lasted ONE day and was exchanged. My first B&O purchase at the time hmmmm

I had one of these but had a completely different experience than you. For me it sounded very good and it was the center of many partys actually. The plastic case did not shake at all. Perhaps a different design in newer models, I am not sure. I bought the one with an aluminum plate on the cd-holder. Still miss it today.
I think Michael it was because i'd moved from very high quality separates with really good speakers to the Century. This reason for the Century was I did not want lots of cables everywhere and dusty pieces of equipment etc. But it was very nice for chill out music. Mine was December 1999. I still have it in a spare bedroom to this day but it's not in use anymore as EVERYTHING I own is now in iTunes :) :) :)

Good luck to you - my whole being cringes at the thought!
Ban boring signatures!

why not AUX-IN from an AE or PlayMaker ?
BeoNut since '75
Hi Elephant great idea but I don't want the Century in my living room as I don't want a CD/tape machine in my modern living room to be honest - I think an A8 would be the answer ;)
Puncher you cheeky guy ;) iTunes suits me great for my music and films etc as I've never liked DVDs or CDs lying around my place. However, I could NEVER replace my real books with books on iTunes as I LOVE having hundreds of books on view in my living room - it's an obsession!!! I have a weakness for architecture, travel or design books! That TASCAN book publishing house has a lot to answer for :) :) :)
I rip all my cd's in apple lossless - they sound grate !
Flappo, what is a CD? ;)
Any news on this?
